About Us

  • Name: Katrina Lawrence

    Role: Editor
Thinks she is heaps good at: Faking glowy skin

    Twitter: @beautyeditor

Kat has tested a ridiculous amount of products in her 15 years as a beauty writer and editor. Not one centimetre of skin or hair has been left untouched in her professional pursuits. From top to toe, budget to splurge, anti-pimple to anti-wrinkle, Kat has slathered and lathered on the lot. In her downtime, however, she’s quite the beauty minimalist, favouring a well-edited (albeit high-rotation) selection of skincare and sheer makeup. She’s also a bit of a fragrance obsessive, spending several minutes each day working out which perfume (at last count she had 46 bottles on her boudoir table) works back best to her outfit of the day. Before PRIMPED, Kat worked for a number of top magazines, including Cleo, Shop Til You Drop, Harper’s Bazaar and Madison.

  • Name: Hayley Bennett

    Role: Beauty Writer
Thinks she is heaps good at: The ballerina bun

    Twitter: @hayleymbennett

Hayley’s love affair with all things beauty began at the mere age of 5, where she attempted to wear everything in her mums’ makeup bag – simultaneously. Not much has changed – from glitter nail polish to plum lipstick, she loves nothing more than to test every product she comes across. Beauty buys currently on rotation in her beauty bag are lip and cheeks tints (she loves a good multi-purpose buy), anything illuminating to get her skin remotely looking like Miranda Kerr’s, and texturising hair powder – she’s always on the search for more volume. Before joining PRIMPED, she covered all things celebrity, fashion and beauty-related at The Sugar Network Australia. As beauty writer she’ll be playing your on-the-ground reporter, giving you the lowdown on the new products hitting shelves and how to get the latest celebrity must-have looks.

  • Name: Yaz Trollope

    Role: Contributor
Thinks she is heaps good at: Illuminated cheekbones

    Twitter: @Yaz_Trollope

Yaz Trollope has always had a penchant for beauty products, treatments, writing and pampering in general: a prime candidate for a beauty journalist. Having started her career as beauty assistant at marie claire, learning 285 ways to look gorgeous and get glowing, Yaz moved over to beauty edit a weekly gossip magazine, Famous. There she learned that Katherine Heigl loves Kerastase Conditioner because, “It smells like fresh laundry,” and that Ashlee Simpson has unbelievably sensitive skin. Now at PRIMPED, Yaz is immersed in the world of widgets and webby stuff, but with the tasty flavour of beauty (phew). Scanning all the latest news, reviews and product launches, she’s a little beauty Cluedo, deciphering all the best (and worst) beauty snippets and dishing them out with fun and finesse and a fashion-forward top knot.

  • Name: Emma-Charlotte Bangay

    Role: Contributor
Thinks she is heaps good at: The glossy lid and finding long forgotten lip colours in every jacket pocket!

Emma-Charlotte Bangay became a beauty writer back in the early 1700’s. Or so it feels. In truth, her career has spanned only a few decades and various states, during which time she has penned beauty, health, celebrity and lifestyle whimsies for Marie Clair, Woman’s Day, SHE Magazine, Shop Til You Drop, New Idea, Sunday Life, Cosmopolitan, Fitness First and Real Living. A great believer that valuing yourself is priceless, her writing aims to spruik the positive vibes that a touch of lipstick, a hand massage or a deep cleansing mask can give. Oh, and she’s mad for a chat, so when no-one within her physical radius is up for one, she plans to bang on about all things beautiful to you.
