Amy Adams To Play Lois Lane; I’m Thrilled To Bits

And now, for your daily dose of celebrity gossip brought to you by PRIMPED (via Perez Hilton, The Huffington Post and even Kyle and Jackie O on the way to work). Sure, I’m not exactly breaking the story, Primpers, but I definitely have something to say about it.
Maybe I’m showing my age here but Lois & Clark was one of my all time favourite shows in the Nineties. Well, that and E Street, 90210 and of course, Melrose Place. (Fun fact: My best friend had Patrick Muldoon swooning over her at a New Year’s Eve bash in New York many moons ago. She’d probably kick my ass for sharing that with you, but hey, it’s big news in my circle and we’re still high fiving her).
Anyhoo, back to Lois & Clark and how I adorned my walls with posters of Dean Cain and wished to look like Teri Hatcher and break big news stories and be swept away by a dashingly good looking man in blue Lycra. Oh, the memories.
There’s something about Superman that appeals to both men and women, Primpers. It’s a gloriously romantic story with all the juice it needs to make a hit – we’ve got love, danger, mystery, suspense, and of course, beauty in the form of Lois, their heroine of sorts that most women on the planet admire, yet don’t feel threatened by, and most men want to, well, just admire. Full stop.
So it’s no surprise, really, that when remaking this epic tale the casting of Lois is a crucial one. People want to know who the woman to steal the heart of a superhero is going to be. Children, and ahem, some adults like myself, place this decision on par with what to make for dinner on Sunday night. Or, even more importantly, whether to watch Man Vs Wild or Project Runway tonight.
And so it has been announced, Primpers. Miss Amy Adams is to play the role of Lois in the latest remake of the movie – Superman Man of Steel – after beating out other hopefuls including Kristen Stewart.
And what a wonderful choice she is, Primpers. For me, Amy personifies this role to perfection. She’s smart, witty, pretty and most of all, approachable in that adoringly sweet kind of way. I mean, look at her here (at the Oscars) with her innocent side swept curls and perfectly placed blush. Delightful.
So it is with that news, Primpers, that I welcome Amy here into the Superman Hall of Fame. Where she will perch next to the likes of Teri Hatcher, Kate Bosworth and even old-timers like Margot Kidder. I, for one, am thrilled about this news and can’t wait to see Amy (and super hottie Henry Cavill) on the big screen and suss out her clothes, her hair and especially her makeup. Hooray!
Tell me Primpers…
Are you a fan of Superman, too?
Tell me you enjoyed Dean Cain and Teri Hatcher as much as I did?
Do you like Amy Adams as Lois Lane?
