Front Row: Kim Kardashian serves up a vintage ace

Tue, 15 September 2009 10:18AM

It’s always fascinating to perve on the celebs during fashion week. They always take their look just that little but further, which for us is just splendid. Last season it was Leighton Meester. She was at the opening of an envelope looking all stylish and pretty and fresh, but this season, I think Kim Kardashian might be looking like the hot favourite as she glides around Bryant Park looking all retro and vintage and glamorous. Check her out…

Here she is at Jill Stewart:

And here she is at Tracy Reese:

I am thrilled to see that Kim has returned to her natural darker shade, that blonde style she was rocking at the Teen Choice Awards was a little too Playboy Bunny for me. She looks a million times better like this. All Old-Hollywood glamour with her pinned back hair, bold brows and either nude or red lip. I prefer the red lip on her though, especially with that slinky black one-shoulder dress. What about you?

What Kim really excels at is eye makeup. She absolutely smashes the mad sexy eyes. Now, I am aware that she’s blessed with a stunning natural almond shape eye, but the key is that she enhances them Primpers. Clever chick. Here’s how you can too.

- She applies a WHITE EYELINER to her bottom, inner eyelid rim. You know, the fleshy part. This makes her eyes look wider and more wide awake.

- She then runs what I believe to be a black eye kohl along her lower lash line. Just underneath the fleshy part, where the lashes meet the skin.

- I would then say Kim applies either a gel or liquid liner to her upper lash line, keeping it thin on the inner half of the lid and making it thicker and flickier the further out towards the temple she goes. Clearly, she’s a master at this because the definition of getting liquid liner right is knowing it needs to get thicker as you take it out. It shouldn’t be one big fat line. Not sexy.

- And finally, Kim finishes off her mad sexy eye makeup with a set of false lashes (or even extensions) and some mascara. Her lashes are RIDIC.

What do you think Primpers…

Do you like Kims look here?
What lip do you prefer?
Have you got a secret to getting the mad sexy eyes?

    I love this vintage look!
    It’s my favourite.
I like them both the same. They each have their own pluses. One seems more evening and the other more afternoon tea.
I just wish I could have a personal hairdresser who could pin my hair back for me like that when I want it.
    Dream dream!

So glad she’s back to her darker roots, I thought I was the only one who throught she looked like an LA Playmate!

Love how the look can translate to day and night, so classy!

This is the hair I had for my wedding! Hairdresser did it in about 5 seconds (plus curling time), maybe with a how-to (hint hint) we could learn to do it ourselves?
