Purple Eye Shadow: One seriously hot new trend

As you know, Primpers, we’ve been covering off the awards season like the eager little beauty bunnies (as opposed to Playboy Bunnies) that we are. And, from all that riveting red-carpet coverage comes trends. Big, fun, bright beauty trends that you and I and The Old Lady Living in a Shoe, can try. The latest? Purple eye shadow.
Katie Holmes rocked it at the Valkyrie Premiere, going all lilac and fabulous and light.
Then January Jones (who we are loving sick right now) whipped it out at the Annual Producers Guild Awards. Opting for a metallic version that was very pastel and pretty.
Amy Adams went for the more eggplant, plummy version at the SAGs, pairing it with a red lip.
And, bang! Just like that, the models at Valentino’s couture show in Paree yesterday stormed down the runway with the exact same plummy shade of fabulousness, but with more of a severe finish than Amy’s subtle liner.
What you want to do is get your hands on a rich plum or light lilac eye shadow. Something like the brand new Clarins Colour Quartet for Eyes in So Chic, $65, would be perfect if you want that deeper, Amy Adams look. Pair it with a black liner, heaps of black mascara and a rocking red lip.
Here’s the visual.
