SATC2: SJP pulls another fancy headpiece; I’m sold

So, the Sex and The City 2 London Premiere happened the other day and as I have no doubt you’ve all seen the pics on the news and on the web, you should be aware of SJP’s rocking headpiece. I, for one, was floored, yes, it’s a little haunted house at Halloween but on closer inspection, I have come to like it very much. What about you? Too much or just enough?

We all know SJP is the queen of kooky headgear town. This woman is fearless and while there’s probably only one event on the planet (this one) where you could get away with this, I think it’s perfectly fun, fabulous and fitting, Primpers. Don’t you? Yes, it’s large in the most epic of proportions, and yes, it’s massively Halloween-esque and probably a little bit ridiculous, too. However, when paired with her simple, centre-parted hairstyle and matching smoky eye makeup, I’ve become rather fond of this little delight.

Here’s the rub. Clearly we’re not going to be rocking this around the streets of Sydney, or Melbs, or Radelaide, or Perth… or anywhere in Australia, we’d look silly, but we can always take away from these fun red-carpet trends and re-appropriate for ourselves, Primpers. Now, that’s an idea. My advice, if you’re liking this, is to look for fun, oversized headbands with big bows, tulle, diamantes and ribbon and play around. When you’re rocking some seriously bold headgear, stick to only one focal point with your makeup (lips or eyes) and keep your hair smooth and not too large. Sleek, if you will. HEAVEN!

Now onto the other chicks, Primpers. Huge win all around, really. I’m loving the mad big blow-dry as featured on Cynthia and Kristin. Cynth has obviously spent the weekend getting the mad extensions, which I’m enjoying on her. Good one Cynthia! While Kim has kept with her funky little vintage style that makes her look about 10 years younger and massively hot. A.MAZ.ING.

Tell me, Primpers…

    Holymotherofgawd! At first I
    was confused at what the bird’s-nest-like thing suck on the wall was, then I realised..it’s on SJP’s head! I think It looks a little frightening/silly, but after staring for a while I’ve come to like it too. Kudos SJP. And that dress with matching shoes. WOW.

    Actually, it sort of looks like a model of the universe, especially since it’s black and glittery! OMG, I want galaxies on my head!

    yup, i love SJP and her head gear – amazing!
    On another note, I think Cynthia’s extensions are bloody awful! She looks like dolly parton gone wrong… I think they are terribly aging.

    I agree with you about SJP’s headpiece – it IS the SATC premiere, we have to expect something fabulously crazy! But Cynthia’s hair extensions? No no no!

    LOVE IT. SJP looks stunning. sigh!
    on the other hand, i have to agree with the multiple posts below, not loving the extensions on Cynthia at all… or the colour, for that matter…
    and on a side note, does anyone else want to refer to the ‘other’ 3 girls as their character names all the time?!

    Baaaaaad extensions. You can see her old hairstyle with the colour mismatched extensions hanging in there.

    I can understand her wanting to go back to her natural colour. But red sure does suit her better. Makes her all glowy.

    Loved SJP’s whole outfit, and the other girls’ too, but just can’t think that those extensions are anything good on Cynthia… Is it the angle of the shot? Whatever it is, I’m not keen.
