Taylor Momsen rocks a red lip and bronzer in one go

There’s a reason we’re reporting on the S/S 09 shows a year in advance, and for those of you who haven’t got around to reading why, here it is. Beauty is meant to be embraced as it happens. Unlike fashion, we don’t have to wait around for clothes to be on sale, we can just leap right into to the looks we love. It’s perfect (and just between you and me, so much more fun).

Taylor Momsen clearly agrees. You see, Taylor might come across as just a teeny tiny little girl who’s barely old enough to even wear makeup, let alone nearly beat us to a trend. But don’t be fooled by her youthful looks, she’s all over a trend like a pair of tights hugging Kim Kardashian’s tush. Yup, she’s got it covered.

This week’s trend happens to be the bronzer/red lip combo first seen at the Michael Kors S/S 09 show. Luckily, Zo picked up on this weeks ago but it seems Taylor likes it, too. Geez, she’s got great taste, doesn’t she?

With a real fire engine red lipstick shade complementing her skin tone (and dress) just wonderfully, she’s also kept her eyes minimal, which is crucial if you want this look to work (too much is no good). She’s also just lightly dusted her cheeks with bronzer, oh, and the bridge of her nose, but she hasn’t gone nuts or anything. She’s kept it all very controlled. Good girl.

As for her hair, well, that’s another story. Blonder, obviously. But perhaps she’s decided that the shaggy hairstyle she thought would look great, is best left tied back. I happen to agree, although I’m not loving the Year 10 formal pieces hanging randomly at the front. They look a bit lost. The fringe is good though. I like that, lots.

Anyway, the overall look is very chic and totally on trend. It just proves the point that bronzer and red lipstick really should become best friends. It makes her look so alive and summery and, well, grown up.
