The lip products models just can’t live without
Wed, 28 September 2011 9:03AM
When I was scooting around backstage at New York Fashion Week I took it upon myself to quiz models on their favourite beauty products. The reoccurring theme? ‘Lip stuff’. Be it balm, gloss, tint, lipstick… I tracked down the lip products all the cool kids are using. The good news? You can too.
Here’s the round-up, Primpers…
1. Zuzanna Bijoch loves M.A.C Clear Lipglass
Marc by Marc Jacobs S/S ’12

She’s an up-and-coming model with more shows to her name than Beyonce baby tweets (apparently Beyonce’s pregnancy is tweeted about 9,000 times a second. That’s nuts) and her favourite lip product of choice is this winner by M.A.C.
2. Lydia Carron loves Vaseline® Petroleum Jelly Original
Backstage at Thakoon S/S ’12

Featured on Vogue Italia’s website this down-to-earth American is going places. Quickly. She’s so obsessed with Vaseline so uses it as a moisturiser as well as a lip balm, as other products are too harsh for her delicate skin.
3. Andie Arthur loves Fresh Brown Sugar Lip Polish
Thakoon S/S ’12

Due to the nature of this awesome product, Andie loves the fact that it nourishes, as well as exfoliates. So that’s how she gets those super-smooth smackers. Love!
4. Marique Schimmel loves Burt’s Bees Replenishing Lip Balm with Pomegranate
Rag & Bone S/S ’12

Having just featured on the cover of Italian Marie Claire, this gorgeous Dutch beauty is a massive fan of the Burt. She credits the pomegranate balm for her perfectly kissable lips, and I have to say, Primpers, this one’s a winner in my books too.
5. Michaela Hlavackova loves Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream
L’Wren Scott S/S ’12

As one of the bigger names in the business, this Slovakian pro knows a cult product when she sees it. Rub Eight Hour Cream on your lips, elbows, knees, or anywhere that can get a little dry, and you’re well on your way to runway ready.
Tell me Primpers…
What do you think of these 5 model lip product picks?
Do you like them?
What are your favourite lip products?

I love Burt’s Bees Pomegranate Lip Balm too! It has such a lovely tint, not to mention the fact that it is super moisturizing! I love the sound of that Brown Sugar lip scrub too!

I have and love that Burt’s Bees lip balm too!
As for the others, I have a gorgeous clear lip glass from Kit that I cannot go without, I sometimes use Vaseline on my elbows and heels, I have a lip scrub from Smashbox that rivals the Brown Sugar polish, and I’ve never used the EA cream, although I’d like to!

I don’t like to use products like the lip polish as they are often way to harsh for your lips.
The rest of the products are good choices, eight hour cream is now on the shopping list

The Fresh Brown Sugar Lip Polish looks really good. My lips have been so dry and nasty at the moment. I might need to use a lip exfoliator.
I love Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream. It’s such a great product.

Couldn’t live without 8 hour cream, although wouldn’t mind checking out Burt’s for something smaller in my handbag!

glad Burts Bees was mentioned as its a great lip product!
that sugar scrub for lips sounds interesting.. wonder if you could use a body sugar scrub or would that be too coarse for the lips?

The brown sugar polish looks amazing! Going to order one now! As for petroleum jelly-gosh it’s just so toxic! I can’t believe she would use it on her lips! Natural is always better! xxx

EA 8 hour cream sounds great!
Sugar polish sounds a little bit too harsh for my sensitive/dry skin.

I am massive fan of sugar scrubs – Lush do 3 great varieties and a jar is $10; Mint Julip, Bubble gum and Sweet Lips.
Burt’s Bees do great lip balms too, there’s always one in my bag.

Lanolips range of lip glosses (Tinted color glosses and Lemonaid Lip Aid) are the best glosses! I’ve tried more than 50 brands of lip glosses and Lanolips are the only ones that keep my lips moisturised through out the day and not dried out half way through the day.

I agree, Im a Burts lover too. The new pomegrante with SPF is even better. I have always heard about the 8hr cream but I’m yet to try it, might be time to finally get some.

ooh yeah the sugar polish looks divine, Lush cosmetics have great ones also. I can’t live without mac lip conditioner. stays on your lips for ages, isn’t at all greasy, has a pleasant taste and doesn’t bleed out if left on for too long
