The Top Ten Beauty Blunders of 2009

With all of 2009s hits, there were, as expected, some misses too Primpers. And today, we’re counting down the Top Ten Biggest Beauty Blunders of the year, reminding us all that celebs are in fact, far from perfect. Hooray! Let’s begin then shall we…

10. Katherine Heigl’s Over-bronzed Cheeks

We all know Kath sometimes goes a little nanna with her hair and makeup, and this year, at the Oscars she also went a little OTT with the bronzer. Like, massively OTT, Primpers. See how it’s all illuminated and very, very dark on her cheeks? Almost like she’s just fallen into a mud bath? Yup, you definitely don’t want that. The rest of her look is actually really stunning, it’s just a shame she ruined it with the heavy concentration of colour on her cheeks.

9. Blake Lively’s Really Bad Chest Concealer

Note to Blake; When hitting the red carpet and trying to dazzle us with your beauty, make sure there are no distractions. Like really bad concealer on your chest, for example. It takes away from your amazing makeup and lovely hair and makes you look just a little bit silly. Next time, just make sure you get a concealer that’s the same colour as your skin, that’s all.

8. Sophie Monk’s Massively Over-plumped Lips

Oh gosh Primpers, where do I begin? Perhaps in saying that I actually really, really love Sophie but 2009 was definitely not her best looking year. It seems that every month saw those lips taking on a life of their own and now that we’re at the end, they kind of have no where else to go but crazy town. Too big, too full, too plastic. Sorry, but it’s true.

7. Cameron Diaz’s Sweaty Pits

Now, I know it’s kind of slack picking on someone for their sweaty pits, I mean, I can’t talk, I get them too. Sometimes. BUT, at a red carpet event, you think you’d get that shit sorted and as Cam seems to have permanently sweaty pits (Oscars. Pink Dress. Remember?) I think it’s time to look into some options. Botox, Driclor… ANYTHING.

6. Jessica Simpson’s Application Error

Poor Jess hasn’t had the best year, so I’ll go easy on her. Let’s just say that the eye makeup is way too dark, the concealer is way too light and the bronzer is so wrong, it’s almost impossible to correct. That’s all. Rant over.

5. Sienna Miller’s Sun Damage

We all know that Sienna loves nothing more than frolicking in the sun, without clothes on and with a new (at times married) man to hang off, but I think all that sun is going to her head. Literally. Pictured here with a touch of makeup on, there’s no hiding the sun damage and tinge of red to her skin tone. Not cool.

4. Nicole Kidman’s Powder Malfunction

Broadcast across every news bulletin in the world was Nic’s terrible makeup malfunction that saw her usually perfect complexion covered in a perplexing powder. Firstly, what was it? Secondly? Who the hell would let her walk out looking like that? Fire that makeup artist immediately. The powder turned out to be makeup that was reflected by the flashes from the paps, but still! Terrible.

3. Isabel Lucas’ Terrible Tan and Haphazard Highlights

Poor Isabel went from being a PRIMPED golden girl, to well, just golden. Too golden, in fact. She blows it here with her ridiculously orange tan that’s all uneven and way too dark on her face. Add some mismanaged highlights that are all the wrong colour to the mix, and boom! you’re on the biggest beauty blunders list.

2. Lindsay Lohan’s Face. Need I say more?

No, I don’t really need to say anything but I will. Naturally. It’s scary and so plastic, I could potentially mistake her for a rubber doll called Trudy who you can dress up and plait her hair. Her lips in particular are what have really put her on this list as they are all wrongly plumped and too big and just generally WRONG.

1. Kim Kardashian’s Cancer Inducing Sunburn

And finally, we have Kim and her award winning blunder of 2009. As Zo put it, she’s a complete moron and anyone who ever let’s themselves get this burnt deserves all the free radical outrage they have coming their way. Not only does it look ugly, but it’s dangerous too. So not cool, Kim.
