Top 10: Paris Fashion Week Hair and Makeup
Fri, 5 February 2010 10:20AM
Well, this is it, Primpers. We’re wrapping up the final week of what’s been a totes nuts month of fashion festive madness. We’ve covered all the New York, London, Milan and Paris shows that have done anything remotely interesting and now, we’re off to sleep. Ha! As if. No, no, next week we have lots more fun treats and trends coming your way but for now, let’s give Paris the ending it deserves with a Top 10: Paris Fashion Week Hair and Makeup roundup. Here goes…
1. “Big hair and pretty eyes” Chanel

Centre parted hair with slightly curled ends and the perfect amount of boof was paired with lots of eye makeup and nude lips at Chanel.
2. Emanuel “Two-toned lips” Ungaro

With an orange upper lip and fuchsia lip down below, the two-toned lipstick combo at Ungaro was fun and quirky. The easy updo was simple and pretty casualay too.
3. “Simply sexified” Valentino

Classic and so, so sexy it’s ridic. This smoky eye with grey and black shades, paired with flawless skin and glamorous hair is PERFECT if you’re looking for a sophisticated night time look. Recreate this look with Rimmel London Soft Kohl Kajal Eye Pencil, $8.29.
4. Christian “All dolled up” Dior

Zo explains it as all 1920′s black and white films with pencil thin, arched eyebrows, dark lips, lots of eye makeup and structured, pinned fingerwaves. Wearable? Not-so-much. But fun and interesting nonetheless.
5. “I love to crimp” Givenchy

The half-up, half-down style that was all slicky at the top, crimped at the back proves to us that the ’80s is on its way back, Primpers. The makeup was pretty average, nothing too exciting to report, but we’re loving the hair.
6. Yves Saint “wack brows and red lips” Laurent

It was all leather and lips at YSL, with a hot red lipstick taking centre stage up against neutral skin and penciled in brows. At first glance, scary. But when you break it down, it’s actually a very cool look. Loving the slicked back top knot, too.
7. Dries Van “orange lips and icy eyes” Noten

With a slight hint of bronzer, icy blue eye shadow and a poppy orange lip, this look is fresh, fun and PERFECT for pretty much any occasion. The textured, lightly backcombed ‘updo worked perfectly in creating that casual, cool finish.
8. Nina “low ponytails” Ricci

With the front all slicked straight down and the back secured into a low ponytail, this hair at Nina Ricci was simple but that kind of style that never goes out of fashion. Th makeup was a delight too, with nude lips and a soft smoky eye.
9. “Rock chic” Balmain

Textured side parts matched the undone hairstyles perfectly, while the lovely beige makeup palette gave a nod to the ’80s rock era – minus the blue shadow, of course. The lips were really nude and matte, and can be recreated using Rimmel London Lasting Finish Intense Wear Lipstick, $9.95.
10. Stella “lazy beauty” McCartney

Rough ponytails, glossy lips and paired back eyes were the order of the day at Stella McCartney. Lazy chicks rejoice, this look is so, so simple yet still very cool. A lot like Stells herself, actually.
Go on Primpers, what’s your favourite?

Ungaro is my fav, the lips look surprisingly good and I really like the softly pulled back hair.
