Video: Five of the Best – New Beauty Brands

Wed, 17 October 2012 9:10AM

I’ve noticed an entire wave of fun, new beauty brands floating across my desk of late. Some have just hit our shores while others have just been bobbing away under the current, only surfacing now thanks to a PR push or me and my beady, beauty eyes spotting them in the distance. So, Primpers, today’s Five of the Best takes you through the best emerging beauty brands and their signature products that are sure to mask a splash.

But before we get started, I should also alert you to something just as exciting…I have a new ‘do courtesy of the delightful Barney Martin at Barney Martin Hairdressing. It’s short and cropped and inspired by Hanneli Mustaparta in this pic here. Weee!

Anyway, back to the video. Here it is…

And here are the products and brands…

1. Sanctuary Spa Pore Refining Toner, $20, Priceline

The iconic Sanctuary Spa in Covent Garden (which has been there since 1977) is an institution for beauty geeks the world over. Now, the spa range is available in Australia, and guess what? They’re flipping affordable. Sold, to the lady in black.

2. bhave leave-in creme, $44.95, 1300 40 20 64

Primpers with frizzy hair, listen up! bhave is a clever Aussie-owned professional hair brand that incorporates a keratin-treatment free from formaldehyde, parabens and sulphates with a range of seriously great take home products to match. I’m off to get my in-salon treatment in a few weeks, but for now my hair is loving the Leave-in Creme to keep summer humidity out of my way.

3. Chidoriya Rice Bran Wash, $35.50, Green Organics

My editor at Good Health discovered this Japanese beauty brand when they sent her a range of products. Now, I’m hooked too. All products are natural and organic, and each have their own beautiful Japanese flare, be it in the ingredient line-up, packaging or ritualistic approach to application. The Rice Bran Wash is sublime at smoothing and brightening your complexion.

4. HydroPeptide Cleanse Anti-Wrinkle Exfoliating Cleanser, $65, 1800 808 993

This wonderful new beauty brand is ideal for anyone with ageing concerns. Be it prevention or elimination, every product in the range harnesses the skin benefits of up to 21 different peptides, working to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, increase radiance and lock in moisture. This cleanser is a winner if you want to do all three things at once.

5. Tata Harper Rejuvenating Serum, $175, Green Organics

Another all-natural skincare brand, Tata Harper is fresh out of Vermont and has won awards in Allure and beyond. The Rejuvenating Serum is one of its signature products, and I can understand why, it makes my skin feel reinvigorated, healthy and packed with goodness. Not only is the anti-ageing side of things taken care of, but the natural scent of the product smells incredible as well.

Tell me Primpers…

What do you think of this week’s new products and brands?
Anything take your eye?

I love your hair yasemin, i looks so trendy and fab!
The Sanctuary Spa Pore Refining Toner sounds like something id like to try, and its in my price range too.
The Tata Harper Serum sounds like a really good anti aging product but alas to expensive for me. So i might have to stick to the good ol Rose hip oil.
    Some really great products here.

I’ve only heard of Tata Harper’s products from the above brands, and that was only due to reading Into the Gloss. It’s very popular on ITG. The Chidoriya Rice Bran Wash sounds amazing as well :)

I loved buying Sanctuary prodz from Boots when I was back home – my three standouts were the salt scrub in a cute mason jar, the dry body il & the hot cloth cleanser.

I’ve had the Tata Harper Regenerating Cleanser on my wishlist for ages now- it gets such good reviews.

Love the sound of the rice bran wash. Not sure if anyone can remember the Japanese Washing Grains that The Body Shop used to do with rice bran & adzuki beans but it makes me think of that which was ace at clearing blackheads

Ooh so it seems Chidoriya do an azuki bean scrub and the rice bran scrub you can get & mix together !!’

I swear The Body Shop used to make a product almost identical to the Chidoriya Rice Bran Wash !!.

Of course the one want is HydroPeptide Cleanse Anti-Wrinkle Exfoliating Cleanser, $65 too exy for me though .
