Awesome summer makeup looks for all ages
Tue, 4 October 2011 3:00PM
Well, ladies, here we are heading into another season, which means ‘another’ new makeup look. Spring/Summer is a fab time to experiment with bright colours and to get your skin in tip-top condition, ready to flaunt that glowy beach babe look, kind of like this chick is…
Isn’t she beautiful?
Now, here’s how to get a brilliant summer look, no matter what your age.
20’s
If you’re in your 20’s it’s time to play! Firstly though, don’t forget to apply True Solutions All Day Moisture SPF 30 Tinted before you step outside. Then take a rich in pigment bright colour like INIKA’s Mineral Shadow in Turquoise and wash over your eyelid. You can build on this by layering or wetting your brush. If this seems a little to much for you, try using the shadow as a eyeliner and draw a line above (or under) the lash area. This will give you a ‘flash’ of colour and still keep you bang on-trend.
30’s
By the time you have reached your 30’s you know what suits you and what doesn’t. So take one element from the latest looks and incorporate it into your own style. From the catwalks overseas we saw lady like glamour, with winged eyes, and soft glowing peach cheeks paired with a groomed brow. Combined this would work for summer, but if your not so brave, break the look down and try each component day by day.
If your skin needs extra hydration add a few drops of Decléor Aromessence Rose D’Orient to your skin over your daily moisturiser to plump and nourish the skin. Follow with INIKA’s Liquid Mineral Foundation to even out skin tone. Brush eyebrows, curl your lashes and coat with mascara. Sweep on INIKA’s divine peachy blush in Peachy Keen, dab on INIKA’s Lip Whip in Apricot to hydrate and nourish lips. If you’re feeling adventurous go ‘wing’ that eye. Voila…pure 30′s elegance!
40’s
In your 40’s you may notice your skin just isn’t the same as it was before…it may be losing elasticity and perhaps it’s not as plump as it was. Now’s the time (if you haven’t already) to really step up your skin care regime. Prepping the skin is important before applying any makeup to ensure a smooth, even base – it’s never been as important as now. Using a quality skin care line such as Priori will ensure you get great results. The hottest look for your 40’s is ‘glowing healthy skin’. Brush over the face with Priori’s Coffeeberry Natural Perfecting Minerals for sheer to medium coverage. It comes with built-in UVA and UVB protection. Follow on with a dusting of bronzer such as Sun Kissed by Priori over the cheeks, eyes, temples and down the front of your nose for a gorgeous healthy glow. Finish by grooming brows, smudging a choc-brown liner around your eyes and slicking on some mascara. Press into lips a creamy formulation lipstick, your fresh faced forty and ready to roll.
50’s
During your 50’s it’s always ‘hot’ to look polished yet understated. Like your 40’s, skin prep is more important than ever. Keeping skin hydrated and encouraging renewal of skin cells is the key to impart a youthful radiant appearance. Priori’s Idebenone Facial Cleanser will kick start the process, follow it by Priori’s Idebenone Complex Moisturizing Facial Cream for immediate and long lasting moisture. Always apply an SPF 30+ like True Solutions Total Age Protector to keep sun damage at bay.
Slapping on a thick, cakey formulation to try and hide imperfections will not work, this will only highlight them. Instead choose a light reflecting formula like INIKA’s Mineral Foundation to act as a glowing veil. Dust cheeks with a soft pink coloured blush like Rosy Glow by INIKA, fill in brows and keep eyes neutral using a taupe or brown shade. To add fullness and definition to your lips, line them using a pencil that is as close as possible to your natural lip colour. Fill in the area slightly and finish with a natural lipstick shade that suits you. A rose shade is always a winner. Being in your 50’s has never looked this good!

I am actually looking forward to summer for once!
I am currently slightly lightening my hair with the fabulous John Frieda Go Blonder Spray. I love it so much because it makes the natural highlights in my hair look wonderful.
I am also planing to change foundations to something lighter for over summer, I haven’t found a tinted moisturiser I like so thats why I’ll stick to a beautiful light foundation.

I can’t wait for summer, the Sydney weather has been playing up lately so I haven’t been to the beach yet.
I have bought the Invisible Zinc stick foundation with SPF30+ so at least my skin will look good.

I’m not really excited for summer, hate the flies, heat and humidity. I plan to wear a powder or a compact foundation instead of a liquid foundation during summer.

Great tips for all age groups.
I’m always looking forward to summer. We’re not even having spring this year with all this rain and cold days.
My favourite summer looks are always bright coloured lipsticks and nail colours because they look good with my tan. I especially love different shades of pink, fuchsia, red and coral.
