The gorgeous model, brand ambassador and reality TV star, Lara Bingle, shares her top beauty secrets with us.
What does your skincare routine consist of?
I’d like to think my routine is simple yet smart for my skin. My saving graces are Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cleanser, $26, Kiehl’s, The Jojoba Company 100% Natural Australian Jojoba, from $19.95, 02 9651 3030 (it’s a fabulous base and can be applied all over the body. I love it for my hands and cuticles also), Ella Baché Special Eye Cream, $73, Ella Baché, (it’s so lightweight and hydrating) and finally my ‘can’t live without’ Dove Protective Tinted Moisturiser SPF15, $10.52, from supermarkets and pharmacies.
Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cleanser, $26, Kiehl’s
How do you take care of your hair?
I’m not a big conditioner user but I love KMS California COLORVITALITY Blonde Shampoo, $28.95, available at selected hair salons, to keep my colour nice and vibrant, along with Moroccan Oil Restorative Hair Mask, $49.50, from adorebeauty.com.au, to bring my sometimes-traumatised hair to life.
What is your favourite fragrance?
Tom Ford Black Orchid, from $100, from David Jones
What about make-up?
La Mer The Radiant Concealer, $140, La Mer, NARS Laguna Bronzer, $55, Mecca Cosmetica, Tom Ford Shade and Illuminate Intense, $100, from David Jones, (I’m not a really a blush wearer and this has an amazing clay consistency which sculpts and brightens), Kevyn Aucoin ‘The Mascara’ in Black, $40, Mecca Cosmetica,. To finish – La Mer Lip Balm, $90, La Mer, which is like velvet on the lips.
Best budget beauty buys?
Dove Protective Tinted Moisturiser SPF15, $10.52, from supermarkets and pharmacies.
And your biggest beauty indulgence?
I guess anything and everything La Mer…
What does your exercise routine involve?
I really enjoy outdoor activity! Schedules get busy but I jump on any chance I get to be outside and active. Wakeboarding with friends is a favorite past time. And of course hitting the slopes!
What is your diet like?
Everything in moderation I say! It’s about a healthy balance and not depriving yourself.
What is your biggest splurge?
Balenciaga Shoes from Paris
What is your best solution to a bad hair day?
I’m sure you’ve noticed I’m a bit of a hat wearer… But I also find a centre part; spray of water and spritz of sea salt spray seems to fix a sometimes-unruly mane.
Best trick to brighten up a morning after face?
Dove Protective Tinted Moisturiser SPF 15, $10.52, gives me a fresh, dewy finish no matter how tired my skin may be. I use it daily!
Best beauty on the go tip?
Organic Cold Pressed Coconut Oil is amazing. I use it throughout winter and apply it after the shower while I’m still wet so it penetrates the skin and keeps it hydrated and moisturised ALL day.
Fave lippy colour?
I am all about a red lip and my ultimate is Tom Ford Cherry Lush, $65, from David Jones. The name says it all.
What is your biggest beauty/skin sin?
I don’t really have one. I’m pretty regimental with my skincare routine and luckily have the opportunity to work with wonderful people who I pick up tips and tricks off.
What do you do in your down time?
Down time? Not much of that at the moment… I enjoy my friends and family – spending time with them keeps me grounded, focused and as relaxed as I can be with such a busy schedule.
What is your favourite holiday destination?
What is the best beauty advice you’ve ever been given that you would like to share with our readers?
It’s the age-old beauty advice that I can’t turn away from – EVERY NIGHT before bed, WASH your makeup off! Skin needs time to rest, breath and rejuvenate.
Have you been tuning in to the show?
Are you loyal to one skincare company or do you pick and mix like Lara?
