Oh My Giddy Aunt. David Jones Has a Marvellous Cosmetics Promo

I’m gonna say something. Put it right out there. And if you like it, you can take it. If you don’t, send it right back…By the beard of Zeus* I really do love a good catalogue. And poetry. That’s how I roll. My fascination with catalogues started as a child happily circling items in the ToysRUs bumper Christmas special. Now I’m all grown up, it’s Victoria Secret and Sephora. I love to make them. And I love to read them. Good ones that is. Lovely pictures, and lust-worthy products.

So I was rather excited to receive the David Jones Winter 2010 Beauty Book. What’s that smell? It’s 70 pages of desire, Primpers. Packed full of generous GWP, and not just the major brands. Props to the DJ marketing team. Furthermore, if you spend over 100 AUD and use your David Jones Amex card you receive an extra 10% off. And if that’s not enough, when you spend over 100 AUD, pay an extra $19.95 and receive a sexy travel tote full of products, worth $100.
Never one to shy away from a challenge of this magnitude I shimmied down to DJ’s yesterday, armed with my Amex. What did I buy? Not Sex Panther perfume. Don’t be silly.

OPI Alice In Wonderland nail polish mini set $24.95. I couldn’t decide which colour I liked best. Mad as a Hatter, or Thanks So Muchness. Mad as a Hatter is a red with metallic shimmer, whereas Off With Her Head is a brighter red with a slight orange tone. Very on-trend. So I will try the mini’s then buy the full size in the colour I prefer. The gift received with this purchase was the OPI Base Coat/Top Coat and Strengthener valued at $22.50.

Antipodes is a fabulous organic brand from New Zealand and new to David Jones: stocked at Kit Cosmetics up until now. This time I purchased the Grapeseed Butter Cleanser $46.00, which is predominantly olive oil based, but packed with lots of other goodies. I am massively SICK on using oils for my skin and the smooth melty consistency massaged lovingly into my face. Tip; if you’re prone to breakouts, use a toner after an oil cleanser to remove reside. The GWP with this purchase was a Kowhai Hand Cream valued at $32.00.

MOR Cosmetics Marshmallow Body Oil $44.95. Proudly waving the Aussie flag this oil is absorbed in a matter of seconds on my dry skin. Love that it has a spray nozzle. Use before bedtime and your sheets will smell of yummy marshmallow goodness. With this purchase I received a Marshmallow hand cream worth $12.95.
Although I did qualify for the travel tote bag with my purchases, I forgot to ask for it. And the Sales Assistant didn’t offer. Tsk tsk. Perhaps another visit is in order. Must resist the temptation to return for Ultraceuticals and L’Occitane. Oh and perhaps some SK II. Maybe some Laura Mercier. Resistance is futile.
Offers available until 28th February.
You stay classy, Primpers.

I am also a sucker for these tote bags with mini versions of products. Great for travelling.

Cool, Miranda Kerr looks like a young version of my mom in this! I didn’t inherit her beauty but it’s cool how alike they look…only in this pic though..
