Olympics 2012: Our Interview with Silver Medalist and Pantene Girl Emily Seebohm, Plus WIN 1 of 10 Pantene Prize Packs!

Tue, 31 July 2012 10:36AM

We woke up to the exciting new this morning that Australian swimmer Emily Seebohm claimed her first individual Olympic medal, winning silver in the 100m backstroke! We can’t even begin to imagine the intense pressure that the athletes are under, so to come away with a medal is beyond amazing. Congratulations, Emily!

We were also lucky enough to catch up with the gorgeous swim star in the lead-up to the London games, where she talked about her role as a Pantene ambassador, her favourite beauty products, as well as the celebrity hair she covets. Plus, to celebrate Emily’s silver medal and the 2012 Olympic Games, we’ve teamed up with the Pantene crew to offer 10 lucky PRIMPED readers a haircare prize pack. But more on that later.

PRIMPED: How do you feel about competing at your second Olympics?
Emily Seebohm: I am very excited to be heading to my second Olympic Games. I never really thought that I would be going to my first let alone my second. It’s amazing and I am ready for the challenge!

PRIMPED: Have you always been a Pantene girl? And what is it about the brand and the products that attracted you to being an ambassador?
ES: I have always been a Pantene girl at heart and always looking up to their celebrity ambassadors, so I can’t believe that I am one now. It doesn’t seem real but I’m proud to say I am a Pantene ambassador because I genuinely feel that using the shampoo and conditioner has rescued my hair. Before using the products my hair was really dry and never felt quite right, whereas now it looks and feels great.

PRIMPED: You spend a lot of time in chlorinated water. How do you help to repair and treat your hair?
ES: Yes, my hair does get quite damaged from all the time spent in chlorine, but I find using a hair treatment at least once a week helps to nourish my hair and restore its natural moisture levels. Pantene’s 3 Minute Miracle, $7.99, from supermarkets is my favourite, as well as the Daily Moisture Renewal Range.

PRIMPED: What are your favourite Pantene products and why?
ES: I would have to say Pantene Daily Moisture Renewal Shampoo and Conditioner, from $4.89 each, because they have made such a difference to my hair. Using these after I swim means my hair is clean but also hydrated, so it feels soft and silky, not dry and tangled!

PRIMPED: How would you describe your off-duty hair and makeup style when you’re swimming?
ES: Whenever I am not in the pool I love to let my hair out and get the straightener out or curl it! My makeup is mostly pretty relaxed and fresh-looking, but for weekends I like to add some colour either on my lips or my eyes.

PRIMPED: In your personal opinion, which teen celeb has the best hair?
ES: I love Selena Gomez’s hair. She styles it perfectly to coordinate with whatever she wears and what style she is going for.

PRIMPED: Do you have any other beauty tips you’d like to share?
ES: It’s important to find the right shampoo and conditioner to suit your hair type. If you swim and spend a lot of time in the chlorine, remember to rinse your hair with cold water before getting in the pool as it will help protect against chlorine damage.

And now onto the competition … we have five Nature Fusion and five Daily Moisture Renewal prize packs to give away, each containing a Shampoo, Conditioner and Treatment.

All you need to do is tell us in 25 words or less, what does your daily haircare routine consist of?

THIS COMPETITION IS NOW CLOSED.

Normal day is simply putting oil on the ends, combing through and twisting my hair into a top knot held with a clip
