Beauty Maverick: Camilla Belle

TGIF, Primpers! I don’t know about you, but Fridays usually find me a little weary. Sure, sometimes I want to end the week with a big bang and talk heavy stuff like, say, nanotechnology. But mostly my brain needs little more than light entertainment as it moves from week to weekend mode. That’s why I thought it might be the perfect day for a pretty pic fest. Especially as, right about now, you’re probably starting to think about your eye or lip or hair look for tonight, and hoping for inspiration to strike very soon… Which brings me to the subject of today: Camilla Belle.

Seriously, how has this girl not scored a beauty campaign yet?

I mean, she even has the perfect surname for it. She was born to be plastered all over beauty posters, don’t you think?

But more than a pretty name and face, Camilla is a girl after our heart because she obviously loves her makeup, as well as her hair products and tools. While she never looks too out-there, if you do a photo search of her red carpet looks, you realise that there probably isn’t bigger beauty risk-taker in Hollywood (Scarlett Johnasson likely comes in a close second). At every appearance, she has, well, a new appearance (albeit always the same glossy skin and fabulous bold brows).

For example, here she is at her latest outing:

 

How divine is the silvery-mauve eye shadow, washed right up to her brows?

That reminds me, one of our latest favourite purples for peepers: Revlon’s new ColorStay Shadow Stick in Flare, $17.95; there’s a creamy lilac shadow at one end, a grape-ish chubby liner at the other.

Purple aside, Camilla is particularly adept at making a myriad of eye shadow shades work for her. Of course, brown eyes do tend to wear all shades well. For instance:

Metallic …

Smoky …

But she’s not a one-feature wonder, is Camilla, who also knows how to bring it when it comes to bold lipstick. Look:

And, of course, the delicious chocolate-cherry she lavished on at the Met Gala earlier this year…

Oh, and don’t even get us started on the hair, which spans the styling spectrum, from chic chignons to bombshell bedhead to half-up ‘dos.

At the age of 25, Camilla seems to have tried more looks than most women twice her age. Inspiring, yes?
