Cover Antics: Elle Fanning owns a pair of beautiful, distinctive brows

Isn’t it funny how beauty trends change, Primps? A prime example of an epic change would be thin, sperm-esque brows. We LOVED them in the ’90s, but today, you’d have to pay most of us a trillion dollars (and bake us another trillion cupcakes) to sport such things.
And when it comes to brow colour, well, we used to view the combo of blondish locks and darker brows as a little trashy. Now we’ve slowly shifted from that to the point where we now know having brows a few shades darker than your hair colour actually does wonders to frame your face.
Elle Fanning knows the power of a darker brow – the proof is in the pudding of LOVE’s up and coming 6th issue cover. And even though her strands are more like four or five shades lighter than her eye brows, she looks sensational.
THE FACE: Elle Fanning
THE PEEPS BEHIND THE LENS: Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott
THE HAIR STYLIST: Ashley Javier
THE MAKEUP ARTIST: Kirstin Piggott
WHY HER MUCH-DARKER-THAN-HER-HAIR BROWS WORK:
- They are actually the same colour as her roots popping through, meaning they haven’t been tinted, which in turn means they are the appropriate colour for her skin tone.
- They are slightly unruly and natural. If they were groomed and filled-in to perfection à la Katy Perry style, she would look a little fake and older than her 13 years.
- The lack of matchy-matchyness between her hair colour and brows complements the ethereal, whimsical feel of her hairstyle and barely their makeup in this cover. It keeps her looking innocent.
RANDOM POINT I MUST MENTION:
How cute is that wee white bow in her hair. Completely pointless, yes, but you’ve got to admit it’s completely endearing.
What do you think of this cover?
What are your thoughts on Elle’s darker brows?
Do you think they work?
Or would you rather them be a couple shades lighter?
