Front Row: Three of the Best Beauty Looks From the David Jones A/W ’13 Fashion Launch
Thu, 7 February 2013 2:33PM
All eyes were firmly planted on the runway at the David Jones a/w ’13 fashion launch in Sydney last night. And you can understand why – the likes of supermodel Miranda Kerr, Jessica Gomes and Bambi Northwood-Blyth were clad in the latest fashionable pieces set to hit counters for the upcoming season. However, we couldn’t help but take a glimpse over at the front row (check out all the best looks here). Sure enough, it offered up a few fabulous beauty looks and also got us excited for the kick-off of New York Fashion Week a/w ’13 shows (which start tomorrow) …
For her first showing on the David Jones catwalk, Kym Ellery made her presence firmly known. Her slick of glossy oxblood lipstick did all the talking – a key fashion and beauty trend of the moment – the perfect accompaniment to her gleaming golden skin, which is best achieved by a little illuminator mixed in with your foundation. Note how she’s skipped the eyeshadow, save for mascara applied to her long, defined lashes, a wise move considering the bold lip choice, which was Napoleon Perdis DéVine Goddess Lipstick in Xenia, $35, Napoleon Perdis, It’s beautifully fresh, yet dramatic at the same time.
A simple, volume-infused ponytail is seriously underrated in my beauty books. It’s practical, fuss-free, and a rather quick way to create a chic, yet messy ‘do. Better still, if you have a case of the frizzies – or flyways – it all adds to the whole undone vibe like Camilla has going on here. As for her vibrant, dewy complexion – despite the camera reflection across her forehead – there’s nothing like a healthy spritz of M.A.C Cosmetics Fix +, $15, M.A.C Cosmetics, for a fresh and radiant finish to your foundation.
We’re used to seeing the Miss Universe alum with vintage-inspired Hollywood waves and a vibrant lip colour, but we love her with this sultry, sexy take with a smoky eye and long, ripples waves. Best created with a triple-barrel curling tong, like the Silver Bullet Celebrity Curls Mega Triple Barrel Iron, $89.95, i-glamour. Tip: Michael Brown, Jesinta’s makeup artist last night, suggests that if the curls are looking a little too intense, you can always brush them out using a paddle brush, and then add a spritz of sea-salt spray to add grit and texture to loosen them up. Bonus points for the highlighter on the inner corners, which works to open up the eye area.
Tell me, Primpers, which is your favourite look here?
How gorgeous are Jesinta’s curls?
