It’s my birthday and I’ll treat myself if I want to.
Mon, 25 October 2010 10:00AM
Because if you can’t go a little over the top and treat yourself on your birthday, when can you? Never, really. And because taking some time out to do something special for YOU is actually rather difficult these days, I’m using my day of days as a big fat excuse to say yes to a little pampering, yes to a little indulging and of course, yes to a massive piece of cake. Yum, yum.

This is me earlier this morning, tucking into a ciggie before eating cake for breakie. Man, I look good for my age. Who knew smoking was so good for your skin? Ha!
But what’s on the to-do list on this self-indulgent day? Oh, I thought you’d never ask! I’m going to…
…get a facial. Facials are one of my favourite beauty treats, Primps. I am a skincare lover after all. There’s nothing more rewarding that taking an hour out of your busy day to relax while a therapist works their magic on your mug. And your chest and shoulders, too. Not only do you walk out feeling energized and stress-free, but your skin also looks amazing. Recently, I’ve been treated to the Jurlique Aromatherapy Facial (a traditional facial using Jurlique’s sensational products) and the rather interesting Intraceuticals Infusion (which uses the power of oxygen and hyaluronic acid to help transfer an active serum into the skin) and both have left my skin looking super glowy, Primps. I could rave on about them for hours. But I won’t.
…get a spray tan. To be exact, I’ll get a Benefit spray tan. I used to be afraid of getting a spray, but the beautiful, bubbly girls at Benefit have changed all that. The fact that you’re standing in front of them in only a g-banger seems totally irrelevant when you’re chit-chatting away about your weekend. Oh, and it helps that they give good spray, too. They are my pick of the bunch, Primps.
…get a blow-dry. Every girl loves a good blow-dry. Particular when it’s done by a professional. Conveniently for me, Salon Selectives is running a launch this morning that involves us beauty chicks getting a wash and blow-dry with their new products. And I am stoked. Big time.
…get a manicure. Now this I’m only doing on Wednesday, Primps, but I’m more than happy to stretch my birthday out until then. (Believe me when I say that this will not be hard. Ha!) I’ll be paying Orly’s Creative Director, Fiona Hay, a visit, and she is one seriously talented nail artist, Primps. She’s worked on a number of RSFW shows (including Blackbox and Karla Spetic) and is just an all-round gun. The only decision I have to make is what colour I want my digits to be. Or whether I want a spotty mani like Katy Perry. Or a moon mani like Megan Fox. It’s a toughie. But either way, Primps, I’ll definitely be sharing it with you later in the week.
…try out a new makeup look. Which is actually winged eye liner and a bold lip. I’ve seen this look SO many times on people like Lauren Conrad, and, well, Lauren Conrad and adored it every time. The only thing is, I was rather shite at the actual liner part so I never wore the look myself. Until now, that is. It takes a little practice, but now that I’ve nailed it, I’ll be cranking it out oh-so often.
Beautiful Primps,
Do you spoil yourself on your birthday?
What treats do you like to, erm, treat yourself to?
Or do you spoil yourself all the time instead? You should, you know.

Happy Birthday Cherie! Sounds like a spectacular b’day, hope there is a gorgeous dress and beautiful heels to go with it all (maybe as a present! from a mystery admirer! with cupcakes!).

Happy birthday Chez! Enjoy the pampering day. I think spring is the best time for an all over beautifying- kind of like a spring clean! I too am getting sprayed, blow dried, and manied this week for the races. Can’t wait until sat when I can showcase all the ‘effort’!

Happy Birthday! I love Lauren Conrads makeup too. I’m always trying to do it but never seem to get the winged liner quite right.

Thank you all so much for the birthday wishes. Can’t believe I made it to 100! I’m still waiting on my card from the Queen. She’s getting a little slack these days. Oh, and Mimi, I’m still haven’t met this admirer you speak of. Fingers crossed he and his delicious cupcakes pop by soon! Cx
