Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival: Labyrinth by Camilla
Mon, 29 August 2011 2:11PM
I’ve decided to take a breather from all the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards talk, Primps, and slip my Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival cap back on. Hearing that Beyonce is up the duff and witnessing Selena Gomez’s outstanding sexy outfit vs. subdued makeup combo is enough for one day, I think. (If it isn’t, though, why don’t you take a squiz at our gallery on the event?)
But just because I’m changing my tune a little, it doesn’t mean this post isn’t going to be fun. In fact, today’s feature show – Labyrinth by Camilla – could just be crowned with the greatest, brightest and most brilliant hair creation award from this year’s MBFF. Seriously. Camilla is known for her kooky kaftans and colourful runway hair and makeup, after all, so the look from this show was always going to be a little zany.
THE SHOW: Labyrinth by Camilla
THE HAIR DIRECTOR: Tracey Hughes
THE INSPIRATION: The Butterfly Effect
THE SUPER-STAR HAIR PRODUCT USED IN THE SHOW: Redken Wax Blast 10, $29.95
TRACEY HUGHES’ TWO BOBS ABOUT THE LOOK: “The hair brief was a lot of fun; each model was fitted with a blonde wig that we cut into for texture and movement. To finish off, three tones of pastel coloured hairspray in lilac, teal, and soft pink was applied.”
SNAPSIE NO.1: Pink streaks and bold pink eyes.
SNAPSIE NO.2: Bright, colourful, cheeky fun.
SNAPSIE NO.3: Bold, blue metallic nails.
SNAPSIE NO.4: Pops of pink and purple.
SNAPSIE NO.5: Shimmering shades of icy teal.
SNAPSIE NO.6: Loads of purple goodness.
I admit this hairstyle isn’t exactly wearable, but it’s fun. It’s bright. It’s creative. It’s entertaining. And that, my friends, is the reason these snapsies are so darn enjoyable to look at.
Primps,
Do you like this hair for its fun factor?
Which colour is your favourite?
Would you actually every dye your strands like this?

Fashion runway shows can be anything they like. It’s all up to the fashion designer.
I like photo No.3. I would wear this lilac eye shadow on my eyelids only and not on the bridge of my nose.
The hair colours are fun for a costume party.

I think it’s pretty awesome! Fun Factor x 100! I personally like the pink colour best.

I am loving the hair! I love the vibrancy of the colours so the teal is probably a little pale.
Oh how I wish I didn’t have dark hair right now!

Obviously would never try these looks out at home
but I really like the pink look!!
the pink eyes are amazing in the top pics, and the pink streaks are great with the white blonde hair!
I like the blue metallic nails but not a fan of the blue hair… looks too me a little too much like a chlorine + bleached blonde accident..

I’m quite blonde at the moment and after seeing these ladies in all their bright and colourful hair colours it has me considering wether I should jump on this bandwagon, but I really don’t think I could. In a wig it’s fine but I don’t think I could deal with it when it starts to fade and looks washed out.

no don’t like any of this. I would never dye my hair strands. too much work and no guarantee it would work. prefer a more subtle look.

I couldn’t pull this look off but I know some girls can, I like the pink, in picture no 2 the model makes the look really achieveable for that fun night out.

Purple is the best colour in point of view but I would never dye my hair to look like this
I do like and I would wear the metallic blue nail polish.

Fun colours but not for me I think! I particularly love Snapsie No. 3′s bold, blue metallic nails. Reminds me of my nails I wore on my sister’s wedding!
