The Beauty Report: Nicole Richie’s New Fragrance, At-Home Gel Nails + Emma Stone’s Plum Lip
Fri, 22 June 2012 11:46AM
TGIF, Primpettes! Here are a few beauty bits and bobs of the week encased in delightful bite-sized pieces. Dig in!
- I haven’t been able to keep my eyes off Emma Stone this week while she’s been promoting The Amazing Spider-Man. From twisted updos to sleek strands, her beauty looks have been bang on the money at every turn. But she stopped traffic at the Paris premiere, opting for a deep plum lip and shimmering peach eyeshadow extended up to the brow bone. MUA Rachel Goodwin painted Emma’s lips with Chanel Rouge Coco Hydrating Crème Lip Color in Rivoli, $50, 1300 CHANEL, and turned to Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter in Brown Sugar, $21.95, from pharmacies, to add a subtle shimmer and glow across her cheekbones. We’ll be nabbing that tip! And if you needed any more evidence to bust out a plum lip this winter, then this is it. J’adore.

- It’s no secret that I love painting my nails, and friends nails too. No bribe of Cadbury’s Marvellous Creations necessary, although it’s always welcome (hint, hint). So when I caught sight of the ORLY smartGELS System yesterday, I knew that my weekend would be dominated by creating a gel mani from the comfort of my couch. The system includes an LED Light, $99.95, Starter Kit, $79.95 and smartGELS nail colour (of which there are 12 shades), $23.95 each, all sold separately, and promises a smack-up, salon-quality gel manicure that takes just 20 minutes to create, and lasts up to three weeks. I couldn’t help myself and had a little play with them last night, so stay tuned for the full review on PRIMPED shortly, ‘cause I’ll be bringing you the lowdown on the behind-the-scenes process and the finished product. Watch this space. In the meantime, here’s the kit. Cute, no?

- We heard the news back in October last year that Nicole Richie was launching her first scent, and now the details behind the juice have been released. It features notes of blackberry, Seville orange, with golden amber fused with floral notes of Moroccan rose and lily of the valley at the heart and sugared patchouli, sandalwood and vanilla absolute to round it out. Nicole told WWD that the scent was both inspired by and reminds her of her mum, who often layered scents including oils, perfume and lotion when Nicole was younger. Aww! We’ll bring you more details when it hits Oz, hopefully towards the end of this year, but have a look-see at the Art-Deco inspired bottle.

- After battling with the dreaded winter illness last week, I feel like it’s high-time for a little extra pampering this weekend. Cue: Jurlique’s Herbal Recovery Antioxidant Gel Mask, $85, which hits counters on Sunday. It’s a gel formula and has these teeny-tiny antioxidant-enriched beads which burst open to give your dehydrated skin a welcome bout of moisture and vitamin E. Leave it on for around 10 minutes and although you won’t want to take it off, when you do, your skin will feel super-soft and refreshed. Just what you need to unwind after a long week at work.

So what do you think of Emma’s beauty look Primpettes?
And how cute is this at-home gel mani kit?
Do you swear by a face mask on the weekends to feel revitalised and refreshed? Got a favourite?
Have you tried Cadbury Marvellous Creations? They’re the bomb.

Emma looks amazingly good as usual, though i prefer her as a red head, not blonde.I love the sound of the jurlique herbal recovery mask, sounds super good and i want it.I just finished up my second tube of palmers coca butter mask and it is so good considering what little you pay for it

I would love to design a perfume. If I did, the bottle would look just like that, so great job Nicole…. I may keep an eye out for it.

Emma just looks stunning. I’d love to try her look but I’m afraid of looking a bit too vampy with my dark hair/fair skin.
