The new ‘It’ girls you’ll be following in 2012.

One of our favourite New Year past-times is to play a game or two of ‘It’ Girl Prediction. Every day, we spend hours trawling through the web looking at celeb pictures so it’s always refreshing to stumble upon newcomers that are set to take the fashion and beauty world by storm. There’s no denying 2011 was the year of Rosie Huntington-Whitely and Arizona Muse, but just for the next few months, we’re going to ask them to take a back seat and let these fresh faces ride shot gun.

1. Felicity Jones

She’s British, she’s an actress, she can rock high-waisted skirts like there’s no tomorrow and above all, she’s just bumped Scarlett Johansson as the new face of Dolce & Gabbana Beauty.

2.  Cara Delevingne. 

There’s barely a billboard in London that this English model/socialite hasn’t already graced but this year, she scored the gig as the new face of Burberry. And don’t even get us started on how badly we want those brows.

3. Rooney Mara

She’s known-around town for her beyond-neat-for-words blunt fringe, her tendency to only wear black dresses to red carpet events and of course, her leading role in The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.

4. Lea Seydoux.

Another Woody Allen protégée, she’s the face of Prada Candy and just starred in the latest Mission Impossible 4 flick.

5. Elizabeth Debicki

Who doesn’t love a bit of home-grown talent? When she’s not working the red-carpet, you’ll find her on the set of Baz Lurhmann’s new flick, The Great Gatsby. Our verdict: the new Cate Blanchett.
