Why we all need to take a leaf out of Camilla Belle’s makeup book. Especially pg. 23 on Pink Lipstick.

Just kidding. She doesn’t have a makeup book, but I think she should, or her makeup artist at least, because when it comes to face decorating, she gets it right every single time. Primpettes, this is how a lady wears makeup. It’s subtle, it’s fresh, it’s pretty and best of all, it’s easy. Here’s how to get our Camilla Belle face on.
For the same flawless complexion, start with a base enhancer (I swear by Clarins Instant Light Complexion Perfector, $50, from adorebeauty.com.au), which evens out any redness and helps to play up the light before you’ve even layered on your foundation.
The thing with wearing any kind of lip colour (red, hot pink, light pink, berry, or browns etc.) is that it has a knack for exaggerating any existing red undertones in the skin. So, to play it safe, I like to hold off on concealer until the end, once I’ve finished applying the lip colour.
Because the lip is so subtle, you can afford to add a fair whack of colour to the eyes. Start by applying a dove-grey shadow across the entire lid, building the colour so that it’s heaviest as you reach the outer corner of the eyes. If you’re not a fan of grey or charcoals, gold and bronzed-tones look equally as pretty with a peachy-pink lip.
See this chunky, delightfully pink lip crayon? This is all you need to perfect this pout. It’s called Bobbi Brown Lip Crayon in Posey and it’s the best thing since sliced bread. It’s creamy like a lippie, and leaves the faintest hint of shine, making it perfect for non-lipstick-wearing-kinda-girls and everyone in-between. One word: foolproof.
Another handy beauty hint: If you’re really keen to amp up the colour, try dabbing a hint of concealer across your lips, before layering the crayon to stop your natural lip colour from distorting the shade of the product.
Are you loving this look?
Are you a fan of lip crayons?
How ah-may-sing is Ms Belle? Seriously, could she get any more perfect? Me thinks not.
