Back when I was a single girl, a wild little gremlin bundled up in a too-short dress and dizzying heels, (little has changed there, actually) taking on the world one bar/club at a time, brazenly demanding inappropriate songs from disinterested DJs while slurping on a vodka-pineapple-in-a-tall-glass-thanks, I realised the power of a fragrance re-spray mid-way through the night or day.

I had a Beyond Paradise roll-on perfume for many years, which not only made me smell and feel terrific, but had tremendous cut-through, and then, only a year or two back, secured a Michael Kors roll on, which, as a long time MK-wearer, was kind of like being sent a pony when you’re a six-year old. (I’ve written about its effect before, and saw it again in force over the weekend, when, after having long torn through my beloved and limited edition roll-ons, used the product this blog post is about.)

Oh yes, terribly powerful thing, the re-spray. You enter the bathrooms feeling sloppy and common, and emerge dazzling with radiance and allure, because while everyone else smells like booze and sweat and desperation, YOU now smell of gardenia and tuberose and lillies.

It makes you feel instantly fresh and delectable, and while many lovely women will ask of your fragrance (and then shortly after, request a spritz), I’d be lying if I didn’t admit that the re-spray was in large part for the benefit of gentleman.

Never underestimate the effect of an intoxicating scent on a man, even if he is eight Jagerbombs down – he will smell your magnificent perfume, he will realise that you have a glorious and powerful point of difference to the other birds in the joint and he will sloppily tell you that you smell outstanding, his eyes glazed with affection and nightclub-love (and vodka). Even if they’re all chumps, it’s fun to be told you smell amazing. Of course it is! Only a fool wouldn’t enjoy a scent-based compliment.

Boozed dudes and thumping clubs aside, a re-spray is also a marvelous thing after a long flight, or at the end of a long day before meeting someone for dinner, or any time really. But WHO WANTS TO TAKE THEIR FULL SIZED FRAGRANCE ‘ROUND WITH THEM EVERYWHERE?

No one. And as those delicious roll-ons tend to be severely limited edition, our options are as small and shriveled up as caper.

Enter the marvel that is the Travalo Refinallable Atomiser, which, as the website cleverly points out, “makes scents,” – a terribly obvious play on words, but one I am willing to forgive on grounds that this product absolutely does make sense.

What it is is a small (8cm) aluminum refillable perfume spritzer, which carries around 50 sprays of your darling scent, and won’t break, and will fit into any clutch, and won’t cause issues at airports.

All you do is jam it on top of your perfume’s nozzle and pump the juice til it’s full. You don’t waste a drop but you do end up with a mini version of your 50 ml giant so that your gorgeous elixir may accompany you at all times. It even has a little window so you can see how much is left.

I was given one by a friend who was GOBSMACKED I had never seen one before, and had to immediately yell at you all to buy one. It’s bloody genius. It really is. They come in a range of colours and cost around $30 and flying fin soups, are they worth it. I live in fear of losing mine, and must acquire a back up immediately if not sooner. (Terrific Christmas present too, if you’re into that kind of kinky gift-giving business so popular at this time of the year.)

Oh lordy, this actually fulfills my wildest dreams haha.
I always feel so sweaty and smelly 10 minutes into a party, and it makes me a bit self-conscious. I know that one quick spray of my perfume would do wonders!

I work in fragrance and have been using the old style of atomisers for years! I was soooo excited to see these in store. They are soo easy to use, the only problem is i wish they were larger.. 4mls is a little small.. lets hope they release a larger size.

I found a Michael Kors roll on in Sephora about two years ago that hand the rollerball perfume on one end and a perfectly nude lip gloss on the other. It was amazing, perfect handbag friend.

I am a self confessed perfume junkie (currently my collection stands at 19 difference fragrances – soon to be 20 when my parents return from the UK with a bottle of Vivienne Westwood’s Naughty Alice!) so this kinda thing is right up my alley!
I’ve got a few of the annoying old style Atomisers, you know the ones where you attempt to angle the nozel inside the tiny lil glass vial and end up spraying your gorgeous perfume everywhere BUT where you want it, but will be heading to the shops tomorrow to grab me one of these lil beauties! Thanks for the idea
