Slithering surgical scalpels Heidi Montag, your new face is TERRIFYING!

Yaz blogged last week about all the surgery The Hills girls have been having, but it wasn’t until I saw these shots of Miss HEIDI MONTAG looking like the younger sister of JOCELYN FRANKENSTEIN, sorry, I mean, WILDENSTEIN that it occurred to me how deeply disturbing this whole spectacle is.

Look at this face. (If you’re brave, seated and are yet to have eaten your breakfast.)

This is not the face and body of a 24 year-old. This is not even the face or body of a human. This is the face and body of a Lego figurine with a central nervous system wearing a wig and a holding a small, frightened pony. (She had it surgically altered to appear like a dog.)

The irony is the more surgery Miss MONTAG has to look “better” and more youthful and more perfect, the older she looks, and the more circus sideshow she becomes. Since she went public saying that she was “obsessed” and totally addicted and wants more (because having ten reconstructive surgeries in one day is chicken feed, MAN UP, MONTAG!), it’s almost like she is doing that thing where if you admit to it, people can’t really pull you up on it anymore, because by being open about it and taking ownership, you become a little bit invincible. Kind of like that asshole flatmate you had whose favourite line was that, ‘I’m just brutally honest, that’s all,’ which made them feel like they could tell you that you looked really tired (even though you felt great and had just had a blow dry and done your makeup real nice), or that your boyfriend is up himself, or that your sister is a loser and why does she call so often – doesn’t she have a life?- because by identifying that they are ‘brutally honest’, it meant that they were also allowed to be a douchebag. And so HEIDI, by coming out and saying, ‘I’m addicted to augmentation,’ is kind of flying a flag that if she’s okay with it, then we had better be too, because it’s her decision and so on.

Well, okay HEIDI. And of course it’s your choice. But WHY are you addicted? That’s what I want to know. Because even though it doesn’t bear thinking, you are in the spotlight, and – gulp – young girls look to you as some kind of – double gulp – “role model” (in the same way, say PARIS or LINDSAY are, that is to say – famous and in the weekly magazines a lot) and I think it’s responsible conduct to delve a little deeper than, “I do it because I can afford it and it’s fun – wheeeeeeeeee!” And that aside, I’m curious. Curious as to what part of your brain is sending signals to your wallet saying spend more on surgery, quick!.

Is it the part that wants to end up looking like a freak at 30? The part that has come this far and doesn’t have the will – or the supportive friends or family or partner – to help you take stock of what you’re doing to a perfectly healthy, attractive face and body? The part that loves being a public spectacle? The part who feels it isn’t good enough or pretty enough or perfect enough? Or the part that is refusing to work on or acknowledge all these other parts and just go up another cup size and put together another staged pap shoot with that dickhead you’re married to?

Soap box disassembled.
Feet back on ground.
Froth wiped from mouth.

Do you have any thoughts on her new look, and the bigger picture of all this surgery?

she looks very mature for her age but i think she’s beautiful, you know, boring beautiful. in any case, she looks much better than pre-surge.

Are you kidding? She looks like a freak! She is 23 years old and look at those upper eyes! She is making herself look older than she really is, so really it’s all in vain. Oh the irony.
Look at Heidi next to her older sister- Holly not only looks younger (there’s that irony again), but they look completely unrelated.
Poor Heidi, she was so beautiful to start with and I can understand a boob job, a nose job whatever. But having 10 surgeries at 23 is whack. She looks much worse for having had them.

SWrong – how does she look better than pre surgery?!?! She looks like a barbie doll now. Her chest is too big for her body and her face looks like plastic. This is not boring beautiful, this is unnatural and unnerving. If this is loking her ‘beautiful best’ then I feel sorry for her. Like I said on Yaz’s post…why is she famous?

Hideous. And so very sad. She is one messed up chicken. She looks just plain frightful, and oh so fake. Can she even smile with her new face?

I am ALL for women owning their own bodies and making their own choices, but this is SO sad. She clearly has issues. Apart from her choice of husband. She needs help. And yet she’s staging interventions because her sister does the robot dance when tipsy? Odd.

She looks about 45, not 24! I agree I think she look ridiculous, before long she will look worse than the cat lady! She has also said that she wants larger breasts because ddd cup isn’t big enough. Heidi looked so much better before, she can’t be that happy with the results, she can’t even crack a smile!

I am mortified! This is scary, I cannot believe it is even her! She was beautiful before this! All of the people getting addicted to surgery need to seek help immediately……..!!!!!!!!!!!!
Watch the fist episodes of the hills and see the difference of what has happened to what was a young woman with her life ahead of her!
This is a nightmare.

I think you’re being a tad harsh. She’s nowhere near Jocelyn Wildenstein territory. I don’t think it was a good idea to get all those surgeries (they’ve made her look older than she is), but she hardly looks less than human, as you suggested, because of them. That’s very cruel.

She honestly does not need it. She looked do much prettier before all of this. The plastic surgery makes her look older!

Tiger, you’re right. I would even scrap the ‘tad’ and call a harsh a harsh. I shouldn’t take my rage out on Heidi, I’m just outraged and saddened that she’s doing this to herself.

I think Miss Montag may have body dysmorphic disorder (or some version therof). In no healthy, well-adjusted person’s mind is it okay to have as many surgeries and I wonder if it isn’t some form of pathology.

Someone needs an intervention.

Oh dunno… she’s young yeah.. but hey we’re all well and truley use to Dolly Parton aren’t we? this chick is just the next generation’s Dolly… Maybe they could do a re-make of ‘The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas’ and Heidi could play the role of Mona but I doubt she has the talent… hahaha

She’s absolutely got to have some mental issues, maybe body dysmorphic disorder, to do this to herself. Then again, it’s not unheard of – hasn’t Nicole Kidman done pretty much the exact same thing over the years? She’s a completely different looking person now compared to her natural self. So sad.

If I hadn’t seen her pre-surgery pics (I’d never even heard of her before this)
and only seen these two photos Zoe just posted, I would think she’s beautiful. I would think good genes. I would feel a tiny bit jealous. I think she DOES look good, in photos at least.

But if you see her interview video, then she looks yucky cuz her face can barely move.

Truth – if I had never seen her before I wouldn’t bat an eyelid, just chalk it up to being another Hollywood blonde. But because I have seen her before I am beyond disturbed at how she has erased every unique genetic feature from her face in one rapid surgical shot. A big neon sign that she hates herself deeply and needs therapy, not surgery.

Poor Heidi. Just look at how sad she looks. All that surgery can’t hide the sadness in her eyes. I think she needs to undergo a more important procedure: a self esteem augmentation.
