HELP! Skin/Make-up issues (6 posts)

Hi there!
I'm having huge issues with my skin at the moment, I have no idea why, but I suspect it has something to do with the make up I bought from the US. I bought BENEFIT pressed powder and concealer and have noticed since using them that my face is breaking out almost every second day... As soon as it clears then another breakout occurs! I'm thinking of changing products, something lighter and more sensitive to my skin, but I don't want to buy another product only to have the same thing happen.

Can anybody suggest a pressed powder foundation that's light on the skin and doesn't cause break outs. I do realise that every body has a different skin reaction to different products, but I just have no other option at the moment.

Cheers!

Maryam

  • I use The Body Shop Pressed Powder and I haven't had any problems with it. I tend to break out on the chin and jaw area, so it is most likely hormonal. They're pretty good at The Body Shop though so if you go in and explain they can pop some on your face and maybe see how you go with it?

    Good luck!!

  • Maybe you need to try a brand like ASAP or Youngblood. I use benefit (my favourite brand) but thankfully it doesn't irritate me.

  • Doesn't sound real good. It definately sounds like a reaction from the products, which is a shame, Benefit has always been amazing for me.
I use heaps of products from the Mirenesse brand and have to say that I love them all, they're so consistently brilliant. Their foundations are amazing too, maybe it would be worthwhile you checking them out.

  • I use Clinique and Estee Lauder, and thankfully none of them have upset my skin either....in saying that, I did recently have some major breakouts, I think mainly as my skin was getting a bit dry at the start of winter, being more indoors with the heater on, and then consequently having to use a thicker and heavier cream than I was used to.....thankfully it has more or less cleared up again now!

  • Maybe try physician's formula's organic range, they have a few pressed powders and can be found at ... priceline I think it is. :)
