Make your perfume last all night long

Mon, 15 December 2008 4:52PM

All that dancing and buzzing about to your favourite tune this party season requires effort, and not just in the hair and makeup stakes. Your fragrance also needs a little help in staying put, too.

Because perfume reacts to heat, you need to apply it to the warm areas of your body. We’re talking wrists, nape of your neck, inner elbows, behind your knees and behind your ears.

Typically, fragrance tends to last about 6 to 8 hours but does last longer on oily skin than it does dry skin. Our oilier friends have more moisture to soak up the scent, that’s why.

If you do have really dry skin, try layering your fragrance with a matching body lotion. This will hydrate and keep you smelling sweet at the same time.

Alternatively, you could pop a fragrance soaked cotton ball next to your chicken fillets to help emit even more of a scent. Just a thought.
