New York S/S ’13: Jenny Packham’s Rolling Pony
Thu, 13 September 2012 12:17PM
We know that hair has dominated our how-tos of late, but there are so many inspirational hairstyles rolling down the runway in New York, we just can’t help ourselves. Case in point: this need-to-try ‘do from Jenny Packham’s S/S ’13 show.
It’s safe to say that deep side parts and ponytails have cemented their place as the hairstyles du jour of the S/S ’13 shows and this version from Jenny Packham (Kate Middleton’s fave) seriously has us in a twist.

With Jeanie Syfu from TRESemme in charge of this look, it was all about Las Vegas in the swinging ’60s. Gorgeous, glamorous and totally glitz, this style is one I think we can all recreate. Here’s how to do it…
- Start by washing, mousse-ing and blow-drying your hair so that it’s smooth and soft before creating a deep side part (for the record Syfu used TRESemmé Salon Finish Extra Control Mousse, $7.99, and a Mason Pearson brush). Once you’ve parted your hair, brush the front section forward slightly.

- Gently tease hair with your brush then mist over with hair spray. This creates a little guts and texture to hold your style. Smooth out the very surface of your hair, again using your brush.
- With the hair that you brushed forward, start creating the twist by gathering hair down along the side of your head, starting just before the ear. Gather hair like you would a braid, and roll and twist inwards, along the hairline until you reach just the other side of the nape of your neck.

- Secure your ends into a ponytail. Spritz with a thermal protectant and smooth out with irons. And voilà! You’re done.

Tell me Primpers..
Do you like this hair?
Think it’s easy enough to recreate?

Looks simple and elegant! I’d try it if my hair weren’t so short.

Love it, will definitely try! My hair is curly though so this could be a challenge…
