Dear Jewel,
You fell off our radar for a few years, but gosh it’s good to have you back. We haven’t seen you looking so golden and fabulous in yonks. Some might put it down to your baby-belly, but I’m thinking it’s got more to do with the unusual placement of highlighter below your cheeks that has you looking on top of the world. The golden shadow traced along your bottom lash line is pretty ah-may-sing, too. Keep up the good work.
From Primper, Eliza.
That’s enough loving for Jewel for one day. Over to you now, Primpers. Here’s how to follow Jewel’s lead and get glowing in all the right places.
1. Sunshine state: Once you’ve perfected your base, start blending a yellow-golden eyeshadow from the inner-corner of the eyes up to the brow bone. The beauty of a yellow-gold powder is that it also acts as a highlighter, making the brow bone look instantly higher and the eyes, bigger. Next, use an angled eyeshadow brush to trace an antique-y-looking bronze shadow across the bottom lash line for soft definition. Check out L’Oreal Paris Studio Secrets Professional Eyeshadows, $19.95.
2. Line up: Make friends with a brown eyeliner. It’s softer than straight up black, especially on blue eyes and plays up bronze eyeshadow beautifully. Trace along the top lash line with eyeliner and keep the bottom lashes bare, except for the bronze shadow for subtle definition. Finish with two coats of mascara.
3. Cheeky business: Blend a peachy-pink blush on the apples of the cheeks before applying a powder highlighter down the centre of the nose and out toward the centre of the cheeks for a barely-there hit of shimmer. We love: Nars Blush in Super Orgasm, $62. You want to keep the focus on the eyes and cheeks, so keep it simple with a slick of sheer gloss on the lips to seal the deal. You can’t go wrong with: Revlon super Lustrous Plumping Lipgloss, $21.95.
Seriously, how easy is that? You could practically do it with your eyes closed…

I agree…. Too neutral for a Grammy Awards night.

She looks great but her makeup makes me slack, I am so over natural/neutral looks, come on what about some bold, dramatic makeup for red carpet events !!!

I really should follow your advise and make friends with brown eyeliner. I have blue eyes and can imagine that it will help make them pop.

She looks a little too shiny for my liking…
For a hint of gold-pink dust there is a mineral make up by Covergirl.. tiniest bit of it gives a get amound of shine (of course if you went overboard you might get a little shiny too just like Jewel).
Where has Jewel been for 10 years or so anyway??

She hasn’t aged one bit!
