How to: Get Camilla Belle’s CK One-Approved Makeup Look

The inbox of a beauty writer is truly a thing of joy.

The ‘trill’ heralding incoming emails always means news of overseas trends and incoming cosmetic launches have landed in my laptop.

This is the stuff my dream blogs are made of, so I was especially excited when my trusty cyber-pigeon woke me up to the news that cK Color Cosmetics were soon to be available exclusively at Myer.

Although this was back in February it’s only now that I’ve had a chance to revel in all things cK; across my desk and across my grinning head in general! In keeping with the ethos of the brand, cK color cosmetics offer a cool, confident and on-trend moment in makeup. I love that it doth protest to cover flaws and over-dramatize features, but instead it boasts wearable colours and cutting edge, easy to understand textures. Best bit? The range absolutely celebrates individuality.

I am definitely having a cK moment Primpettes, as did Camilla Belle at last weeks MET ball. Here’s how to get her look, Then get thee to counter!

Says Hung Vanngo for ck one color cosmetics, “We discussed the look for hair and makeup and decided to create a look that was both strong and sexy, with a sophisticated style for the hair and for make-up, beautiful skin, shimmering eyes and dark sexy lips”

Complexion: Warm up the complexion with an even, dewy radiance using ck one 3-in-1 face makeup in tan, $55, and lightly apply ck one skin illuminator in warm, $35, to fingers, sweeping over areas on the face where the light hits (under the brow bone, upper cheekbones and down the bridge of the nose.) Blend well. Press ck one mousse concealer in tan, $30, gently under eyes, along nostril creases and over moveable lids. Finish by dusting face gently with ck one cream + powder bronzer duo in warm glow $45.

Eyes: Create an even lid shade with ck one eyeshadow base in Prim $25, pressed across the movable lid. This is the perfect cool colour to compliment a plum lip. ck one liquid eyeliner marker in good girl, $30, works fabulously across the upper lash line with lashings of ck one mascara in show, $30 on upper lashes to complete this sublime and subtle eye.

Lips: Define darker lips with a pencil, feathering colour over the entire lip (this will hold colour better as well as compliment your natural lip shape for longer). Use ck one soft defining lip pencil in gossip, $25 then – with your finger or a lip brush so you can manage coverage better  – apply ck one lipstick in smooch, $35 and a touch of ck one lipgloss in mad, $28 on the mid-lower lip to add reflection and depth. Press lips together and get thee to the ball!
