How to: Get Rose Byrne’s Beautifully Bronzed ck One Color Makeup
Wed, 12 December 2012 5:11PM
When we spotted this picture of Rose Byrne at the premiere of Portlandia, there was just something about her makeup that struck a chord. We loved how the gorgeous neutral colour palette warmed up her skin and set off her swooping side part and voluminous blow-dry.
Fortunately for us, the lovely ladies over at ck One Color Cosmetics let us in on the secret that Rose’s makeup was created by their global makeup artist Hung Vanngo. “With this look we wanted to embrace Rose’s natural tones with a soft, effortless look to set off the beautiful vintage dress she was wearing. This shade of lipstick is a great choice for those who love a nude lip but still want to have a hint of peach and pink,” Hung explained.
Follow our step-by-step guide to take it for a test run …
Complexion: To get Rose’s warm and natural-looking complexion, apply ck one 3-in-1 face makeup in sand, $55, using your fingers so the foundation melts into the skin, and blend well. Gently dab on the mousse concealer in fair, $30, to cover up any dark circles or imperfections. Brush a light layer of airlight pressed powder in sand, $45, along the t-zone to set. Then, sweep the cream + powder bronzer duo in warm glow, $45, under the cheekbones to enhance your bone structure, and create a sun-kissed glow by swirling the cream + powder blush duo in grace, $45, on the apples of the cheeks, extending up towards the temples.
Eyes: Apply the powder eyeshadow quad in boho, $55, dabbing the soft golden shade over the moveable lid and along the lower lash line, then press into the inner V to really make your eyes pop. Dip your brush into the almost plum-like shade in the quad, and define the outer corner of the eye, and smudge along the upper lash line. Add lashings of mascara in confess, $30, for fabulously flirty lashes. Define your brows with brow pencil + gel duo in wily brunette, $30, using the gel to create bold, brushed-up brows.
Lips: To achieve Rose’s simple, yet pretty pinky nude lip, spend time applying your lipstick well. Slick on a little lip balm and wait for around five minutes before applying your lipstick – pure color lipstick in brainiac, $28. Use a brush to paint it on, and blot with tissues in between coats to ensure it lasts through a few glasses of champagne.

she looks beautiful, this is my go-to look for everyday. but the makeup looks a bit drying maybe too matte, she needs more dewy highlights especially on the bottom of her lip

I like this look, but rose looks a little caked on in this pic.

I am loving her hair, a brilliant blow dry, heaps of volume. I like her bronzing except for the lip colour. For me personally it is too brown, I don’t see the peach or pink tones in the nude and prefer a pinker nude lip.

Rose is so pretty. I’m not a huge fan of the colours myself, but they certainly suit her!
