It seems as though Brad Ngata is stopping by PRIMPED almost as often as say, Natalie Portman or Abbey Lee Kershaw lately, doesn’t it? But we’re always glad to have him. He is a PRIMPED Pro, after all.
Today we’re got him talking all things Kérastase Paris Elixir Ultime because it’s always nice to have a professional stylist talk these products through and give us, you know, an awesome educated spin on things.
So Brad, fill us with your spiffy knowledge, please…
PRIMPED: Hair oils have most certainly been on our radar of late. Why do you everyone is loving them so much?
BRAD: Your hair contains natural oils that keep it happy, healthy and naturally shiny. Unhealthy or damaged hair can be caused by many different factors, including a lack of moisture and essential oils. An easy way to improve the condition of your hair and add moisture back into your hair is to use a hair oil.
P: Are there any reasons why we Primps might not want to use these oils on our hair?
B: There is no reason for people not to use an oil treatment. Even with hair in great condition, an oil treatment will fight the ageing process and protect from external aggressions.
P: OK, talk to us about the Kérastase Paris Elixir Ultime. What is it about this product that you love so much?
B: Kérastase Paris Elixir Ultime is the leader in oil treatments on the market today thanks to the advance research that harness’ the power of four precious oils- Maize, Argan, Camellia and Pracaxi oils to create an exceptional and versatile beautifying treatment.
P: We love spiffy tips and tricks here at PRIMPED, so do you have suggestions on how we can get the most value out of this product?
B: Kérastase Paris Elixir Ultime is really versatile and can be applied in four ways;
No. 1. Try using Kérastase Paris Elixir Ultime before blow drying your hair. This will nourish the hair fibre while also cutting down the time of your blow dry. A little goes a long way with this product, so apply it to the lengths and ends of clean towel dried hair then blow dry in.
No. 2. Use as a finishing product to perfect your style and also to boost shine and control flyaway hair and frizz.
No. 3. Use the oil as a pre-cleanse treatment before washing your hair. This will help remove any build up and impurities while adding nourishment to the hair fibre at the same time. This is a great way to use the product no matter what your hair type is and will leave it supple, shiny and weightless.
No. 4. Because the product is so light, it’s perfect for retouching styles throughout the day. This is really good for those days when you need added frizz control or a dose of extra shine and nourishment.
P: What’s your favourite way to use the product?
B: I find Kérastase Paris Elixir Ultime to be perfect for people with very little time to style their hair. It helps to define the natural movement in your hair – Create the ‘beach look’ you simply apply the product and run out the door and hair will stay in control and frizz free all day long.
P: Talk to us about ingredients. What ones should we be looking out for when it comes to choosing an oil treatment?
B: A hair oil is any hair product that contains a naturally derived oil. There are lots of different hair oils on the market today. Our favourite type of hair oil is Kérastase Paris Elixir Ultime. That contains Argan, Camellia, Maize and Pracaxi oils. Other oils to keep an eye out for are Kukui Nut Oil, Macadamia Nut Oil, Obliphica Oil, Jojoba Oil, Olive Oil.
P: Are there any particular hair types who will gain most from using a hair oil?
B: Regardless of the hair condition everyone benefits from hair oils. Natural hair looking for protection and shine, to hair that has experienced chemically services and needs colour protection and nourishment.
P: And finally, just before we let you scoot off, what are the benefits of using a product like Kérastase Elixir Ultime?
B: The benefits are the hair is nourished, repaired and protected from external aggressions. It helps to restore shine and hair is left feeling soft and supple.
Brilliant. Thanks Brad. We Primps will never get sick of your wise words.
