Get your glow on with healthy food

Getting healthy, glowing skin is always high on our priority here at PRIMPED. And with all the lotions and potions that land on our desks, we sometimes forget just how awesome natural foods really are.

But just when you thought you’d heard about all the super foods your face can handle, we’ve gone and found some more. So get these guys into your mouth STAT:
Egg Whites: The key skincare ingredient in these babies is zinc. This is a super mineral that helps keep your skin looking young, firm and gleaming with vitality. But before you whack the fry pan on the stove and coat it with oil, sticking to poached or boiled is the healthiest option.
Yoghurt: The perfect mid morning snack, low-fat yoghurt has a high content of calcium. And what’s calcium good for? Strong nails and shiny hair. Oh, and it will do wonders for your bones too.
Kiwifruit: This fruit defines why beauty truly does come from within. Brown, fuzzy and rather ugly looking on the outside, this fruit is packed with vitamin C and antioxidants. They help to prevent future wrinkles and keep your skin firm in the meantime.
Olive oil: This not-so-bad boy contains loads of omega-3’s, making it a ‘good fat’. One teaspoon a day will give you soft, supple skin, complete with a rosy glow.
Watermelon: One of the most delicious summer fruits, watermelon is responsible for giving you a dewy complexion. Loaded with vitamin C, potassium and heaps of water, it hydrates the skin to leave it looking healthy and youthful.
Wild salmon: Just like olive oil, wild salmon is full of moisturising omega-3’s. It also contains a mineral called selenium which helps to product your skin from the sun, while also providing you with much needed vitamin D for strong teeth and bones. Now that is a triple beauty win.
Oysters: Another food hailing from the ocean, these slippery suckers are filled with zinc which helps skin renewal and repair. The jury is still out on whether it’s an aphrodisiac or not, but who needs one when you’re skins looking awesome. Not me.
If you’re like me and sometimes struggle to chow down your daily dose of fresh fruit and vegies, it could be worth giving Weight Watchers a shot. You may not even need to lose weight but it’s worth checking out their healthy recipes, food programs and health tips. You’ll have your glow on in no time.

I like all of them other than egg whites and olive oil, I don’t think I could do the olive oil.
