This week, despite it being a short one here at PRIMPED, has been a jam-packed full of flawless celebrity beauty looks (most of which we spotted at the SAG Awards), more than a few fabulous colour collections, and a range of new beauty products to boot.
Here’s a look back at the week that was:
And the notes …
Beauty Highlight #1: For the past six weeks, I’ve been trialling some of the new Nude Skincare products. If I had to say my favourite buy from the range, it would be the ProGenius Treatment Oil, $120, enriched with plant oils and omega 3, 6, 7 and 9, all awesome nutrients to get luminous and healthy skin. Check out the new range, comprised of serums, night and day creams and masks now at Mecca Cosmetica.
Beauty Highlight #2: My celebrity beauty highlight of the week was from the Screen Actors Guild Awards, and our very own Rose Byrne. Her go-to hairstylist Harry Josh, who was also responsible for her beautiful sleek bob at last year’s Oscars, created beautiful finger waves, while ck one Color Cosmetics makeup artist Hugh Vanngo painted a pop of pink lipstick – ck one Pure Color Lipstick in Wow, $35, Myer.
Beauty Highlight #3: One of my new must-have beauty products is one I recently discovered, the Emjoi PediSmooth Plus, $39.95, department stores. I often find that my feet become really dry, particularly during summer, and I always notice it when I don’t have time to duck out for a pedicure. Basically, the tiny mineral-stone roller rotates at 360 degrees and you press it gently on the driest parts for no more than three seconds, and the tool then quickly buffs it all away. It’s perfect for in between salon pedicures, or even for those people who prefer an at-home pedi.
Beauty Highlight #4: It’s not often that I find a fragrance that comes close to my beloved Chanel Coco Mademoiselle, but I think YSL Manifesto EDP, from $85, from department stores, is right up there, and one I’m thinking of wearing on my wedding day. The only word to describe it is exquisite. It’s so pretty and feminine, with a delicate combination of jasmine and lily balanced out by creamy vanilla at the base. Read Kat’s full review here.
Beauty Highlight #5: One of my other product highlights of the week was the new Giorgio Armani Lip Maestro Intense Velvet Lip Color, $49, 1300 651 991. It’s described as a luminous matte lip colour and we agree – it has the feel and look of a liquid lipstick. To see it IRL, I’m wearing it in the video in shade #401, a bright poppy red. As for pigment, it’s up there as one of the most richly pigmented lip buys I’ve tried, and the texture is really velvety, yet so silky smooth. And, as an extra added bonus, we’re giving away two in our current Instagram competition. Click here to find out all about it!
