Bio-Oil is definitely my bathroom cabinet must-have! Bio-Oil is very nourishing to my dry skin as it is packed full of super ingredients such as calendula, lavender, rosemary, chamomile and vitamins A and E. I admit my skin has never been better before in terms of hydration. I normaly use Bio-Oil on my legs, arms, heels and cuticles and when used on a nightly basis, my skin no longer feels dehydrated. Bio-Oil is a fabulous body product expecially for this coming winter season!

While my scars havent vanished completely, but it definitely looks better. I’ve applied it and massaged it in nightly before bed. Its quite shiny like oil but absorbs into the skin after a little while. It also helps with facial tone, my darker spots have lightened noticeably, however i do apply it sparingly afraid of oil causing breakouts, but it has not happened yet.

I have heard nothing but AMazing reviews of Bio Oil, so I had no qalms giving it a go to derail some skin discolouration and dehydration.

While I am sure it does work for stretch marks and perhaps scars on the body, this did not work on my face. It made my skin break out, the uneven skin colour I felt was more obvious. used the product for 3 full months (even took it overseas with me on holiday) and I saw no results.

I spoke to a beautician about this product and they told me to stop using the product immediately… It just did not work simply.

I’lll certainly retry when I get stretch marks in the future but for this purpose it was useless.

Bought this at the start of my second trimester, as I am currently pregnant with my first. I originally bought it for prevention of stretch marks but find I’m using it on my dry skin everywhere not just my bump, especially on my legs and hands which are particuarly dry, even more so in now I’m ‘with child’. :) I’m finding it great! It stops my ever expanding bump from itching as my skin stretchs and my skin seems less dry.

I don’t think it will prevent stretch marks, the reality is you either get stretch marks or you don’t, something to do with genes, but hell it can’t hurt! I’ll keep using it just because it makes my skin feel great, especially as my body is going through all this upheaval.

Yes I agree, this is a bathroom cabinet MUST HAVE. I have used this in the past and loved it, actually I have forgotten about all it’s many uses and after being reminded of them – and learning about a few more after reading these reviews, I’m going to rush out tomorrow and buy some! Thanks for reminding me of what I’m missing out on!

Bio-oil is great for moisturising. However I don’t really find it very useful for people with stretch marks, but great for uneven skin tone!

I first got Bio-Oil a few years ago after an operation as it was recommended to help with the scar. I don’t think it made much difference to that, but it is a fantastic product for when I have dry skin. I use it a lot in winter when I have dry feet; I slather them at night in Bio-Oil and put socks on straight away and when I wake up the next morning, they’re so much softer and more hydrated! Definitely recommended.

I’ve used Bio-Oil for a few years now and wouldn’t be without it. Pop this under moisturiser (both face and body) and it seems to zoom up the moisture content. My skin is reactive to some products but with Bio-Oil, all is good.

I bought Bio-Oil to try and fade some of the many scars that plague my legs since I was constantly trying to compete with my brothers when I was younger which inevitably ended up in many cuts and scratches. I also have a lovely array of stretch marks on my thighs. Which off course is very flattering when I wear my bikini. I found that it did increase the elasticity of the skin around that area and did fade some of my more recent scars but didn’t do much towards the ones that have been there for centuries which is probably to be expected. The stretch marks did start to fade but I found that I got a better result when I used a less concentrated Vitim E moisturiser as well as the Bio-Oil occasionally. Bio- Oil isn’t very good for acne scars though, it’s better to use a specified acne scar remover.

I have had constant battles throughout my teens and early twenties with patchy combination skin and pimples. I finally bought Bio Oil after a friend managed to convince me that it wouldn’t turn my face into an oily mess and it hasn’t. My dry areas are moisturised, the oily areas have settled down and my complexion is nice and even for the first time in years. This product has been amazing for me and I would recommend it to anyone struggling with combination skin.

Im so disappointed with this product, with all it’s hype I honestly thought it would perform.
I found it to be too greasy and it never really soaked into my skin properly, so it would always end up rubbing off onto my clothes :(
I found it didn’t help fade stretch marks, it didn’t stop stretch marks and didn’t moisturiser my skin anymore than a normal body moisturiser can.
After using this for 6momths I gave up and threw it in the bin, never to repurchase!

Definitely great for moisturing dry spots, I rub it on my feet and put socks on to go to bed and wake up with soft toes. I’ve never found it’s done anything for my scars, old and new. Very greasy and takes a while to soak in. Don’t use on your face as it made me break out badly. A middle of the range product, there are better options out there

    a really good scar treatment.

I had various scars all over myself, some fresh some old, and within a month they had all faded drastically.

also good to use under your night moisturiser as a serum to brighten and fade scars and pigmentation.

Ive used this oil a few time, i was focusing mainly on my stretch marks around my stomach due to having a baby. This oil has a nice light fragrance. It massages really well into all areas, including my face. It made my skin feel very hydrated and smooth. But i never noticed any difference in my stretch marks. I used it morning and night for the min 3 months and then gave up as i noticed no difference. To sum up, it feels nice on and made my skin feel great after use, but no reduction in stretch marks.

I keep a bottle at work on my desk to keep my hands and arms moisterised, it helps after being in aircon all day.

  • Posted by: crystal Enthusiast // Thu, 27 September 2012 01:32pm

This product is indispensable. Every home should keep a bottle at hand. I’ve used it on my stretch marks on my stomach and although they are still there they are much fainter than they use to be. But the main thing I use it for is on bruises and scars. Here it works much quicker.
I’ve now started to use it on the nasty age stops that are just starting to appear on my hands. Hopefully it will work.

Great for preventing stretch marks! I have used it on scars too and in softens their appearance. :)

While it made me break out on my face it did work pretty well in lightening scars on my belly and thighs. Like using it in winter to help soothe dry scaly legs. It does absorb into the skin pretty quickly even though it is an oil.

I use to have some acne scarring and I have a really found that it really can fade scarring but it doesn’t eliminate it.

This works a treat on fresh scars, if they are red or dark spots.. but not so much on the white scars.. I used it for about a month everyday but maybe it takes longer than that? Still a great product, moisturising too :)

Another great product, I actually use it on my face every so often, and the remarks I get abut the look and texture of my skin are amazing. Especially as a guy after a close shave, this makes the skin not only glow, but eases razor rash or dryness.

I love Bio-Oil, it has to be the most versatile product I own. I use it on my legs, arms, tummy and the scares i have on my legs are slowly fading. I agree with the other post a must have item.

  • Posted by: lovefashionangel Master Fan // Mon, 14 January 2013 08:51pm

I just wanted to update my review…
I previously used this for scars but now have found better uses. It works amazingly as a night treatment over a night cream to really help to just lock in all the moisture and ensures my face is super soft and very hydrated in the morning. It absorbs well into the face (though it feels a little greasy, its okay while im asleep) but make sure you have a silk pillow case as cotton absorbs it too much if you toss and turn.

So stated above ‘ It also doubles as a bath oil, eye cream, lip balm, ‘hot oil’ hair treatment, and a treatment for nails, cuticles and cracked heels’
I have not tried it as a bath oil, hair oil or specifically for the eye area but i will be next.
On the lips it is okay if you dont mind the ‘taste’of it… it feels slippery though I would rather use a gloss (cant apply anything over it either). As a nail treatment it is nice for once youve removed nail polish and it cures dryness and the bits of ‘skin’ about the cuticle area.

So if youre prepared to experiment with this product it is actually pretty versitile :)

Bio-Oil has a great subtle smell, and is a mutli-purpose oill! I use it as a face and body moisturiser, as well as a hair treatment. My acne and other scars have all faded considerably even with my on-and-off-again usage. A really great product, and at it’s price, a must for everyone!

  • Posted by: Charlotte-1336266070 Enthusiast // Thu, 31 January 2013 07:48am

I love this product! The reason for me having bought it was due to bad acne marks left on my face in recent times! It definitely helped with the healing of my skin and aided in making the redness fade. If you are wanting to use something to even out the tone of your face and recently have had marks you fear will scar I highly recommended trying this!

I think this is great for preventing stretch marks, but i didn’t get rid of them for me!
But otherwise seriously great body oil.

  • Posted by: ninah66 Devotee // Sun, 24 February 2013 01:48am

It obviously doesn’t work on strechmarks that you already have. Thats the reson most people say it doesn’t work. Nothing works on old strech marks but some laser treatments as it is a deeper layer of your skin that is affected.

It helps with the appearance of new stretch marks though. And I love it as a moisturizer and scar treatment.

I’ve used a couple of bottles of this but it hasn’t made any sort of difference to my stretch marks. It is quite hydrating and not bad as a body lotion though.

  • Posted by: Dana Enthusiast // Wed, 1 May 2013 09:47pm

Bio Oil is fantastic, I have lots of stretch marks sans babies, and bio oil lightens them up so much, they’re almost invisible, nothing is gonna get rid of them, so embrace them ladies, by lightening them up off course.

This is a must have for every bathroom I often put this is my bath and also use it as a face moisturizer when my skin is really dry like this time of year

This doesn’t have the best smell. Don’t use it on your face if you’re even a little prone to acne! I like the tip about using as a hot oil hair treatment. I’ll have to give it a go.

  • Posted by: Cathi123 Supporter // Wed, 29 May 2013 03:56pm

I found that Bio Oil on my face made my skin break out really badly, even though I only applied a small amount a couple of times. It feels nice on my dry skin, particularly my legs and arms, but I found it didn’t absorb into my skin really well and left oily marks on my clothes. I would rather use a cream moisturiser that doesn’t stain. I’m not sure if it makes any difference to scars or stretch marks as mine are so old that I know for a fact that nothing would help. I must say overall, I wasn’t really impressed with Bio Oil.

    I love Bio Oil!!
This must be my third bottle of Bio oil to date and I will definitely keep buying it. I don’t just use it on scars but I use it after showering as a body oil for my dry itchy skin. I apply it whilst my skin is still damp and it helps keep my skin moisturized and hydrated.
I also use it as a face oil / serum as the last step in my beauty routine at night. When I wake up , my skin is so plump and soft.
I rub it into my hands and feet as a special nourishming treatment. It is so versatile and I think a must have beauty product :)

  • Posted by: jo77 Master Fan // Tue, 18 June 2013 10:30am

I initially purchased Bio oil for a scar on my face……..I found it to cause me breakouts, but when used on the body gives my skin the most wonderful hydrated feeling. A bottle lasts for what seems forever, and with an affordable price tag, there’s 2 good reasons to give it a try……But I would recommend avoiding use on facial skin if you are prone to breakouts or already have an oily complexion!

  • Posted by: aeko91 Devotee // Tue, 18 June 2013 12:40pm

Love it, I use it on pimples that have gone down in size however the scar or redness has remained. It helps heal the spot quickly. I also love to add a few drops to my moisturiser at night time :)
