This is a sunscreen that works but doesn’t live up to its promises. Despite claiming to be dry touch it left my skin feeling oily like any other sun-screen. Also claims to be fast absorbing but I had to rub for a while before it was no longer visible. Its not very budget friendly either with a RRP of $17.99 for a bottle that is only 85ml.

Many sunscreens make my skin look very oily and shiny. This product is really no different. Although it says on the packaging ‘dry-touch’, my skin looked very oily after applying it. The formula is very thick, and sort of ‘sits’ on my skin rather than blending in, which makes for a terrible foundation base. The smell is not very pleasant, as with most sunscreens. I have no problems with the protection though, and it is water resistant as it claims.

I purchased this product with the expectation that it would live up to the label, being “dry-touch” and all. However, while the protection is good, it does have a bit of an oily feel.

I actually disagree and found the sunscreen works! I didnt go oily after applying it I did find it to go dry and totally forgot I had suncreen on because of the absense of a greasy feeling! The only con though I have to say is that its probably the thickest sunscreen I have ever used and it does take time to spread and rub it in – not sure if its worth it for the dry touch feeling though.

I was very excited when I received my Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Body-Lotion 30+ to test. I’ve used Neutrogena products in the past but this was the first time I’d used one of their sunscreens.
The first thing you notice with any product is the packaging and I liked what I saw. The information on the tube is all set out in a clean-looking way and contains everything I like to see with regard to ingredients, directions and any relevant warnings. The tube is a nice size and would be very easy to carry around in a handbag or slip into a child’s school backpack. The size of the plastic cap suggests to me that I wouldn’t have to worry about leaking sunscreen, something that I’ve had happen in the past with other brands.
The lotion itself had a great texture. It went on smoothly and was absorbed straight into the skin. I have combination skin and hate the thought of putting anything on my face that is too thick or greasy. This product was a definite winner in that regard. I also really liked that it didn’t make my face look shiny like some sunscreens can do and it wasn’t sticky so there were no worries about looking like a sand monster if it got windy on the beach.
I didn’t think it had much of a fragrance but that’s better in my book. I hate overly fragranced products on my skin, I always think they have the potential to irritate my skin, particularly in the heat.
Most importantly, it did its job as a sunscreen really well. I have skin that burns fairly easily. There may have been references to lobsters made in previous summers when I have come into view. I put this product on each morning and went about my daily routine which includes being exposed to the sun perhaps a total of three or four hours spread across the day and I didn’t get burnt at all, even on the days when the temperature got close to 30 degrees.
I think this product lives up to its sales pitch and I would happily buy more of it once this tube is finished.

I got a bottle of this recently for free, but I gave it to my mum because I’m sensitive to a lot of sunscreens and just didn’t want to risk it. Anyway, I thought I’d get her to tell me her thoughts on it. She said it was the best face sunscreen she’d ever used. She says it goes on easily, just like a nice moisturiser, and you don’t have to wait for it to absorb before it looks ready to go. She says it lasts nicely, and doesn’t disagree with her skin, by clogging or irritating.
(I personally think it smells weird.)

Like most fair-skinned Aussies I have a sunscreen obsession so I was excited to try this out. Immediately a fan of the packaging – wasn’t too bright and showy. The insides are awesome too. Creamy texture that absorbed really well into my skin, unlike other sunscreens where you have to rub and rub. Smells just like your regular sunscreen, which I love cause it reminds me of summer!
Overall a good sunscreen. Reccomend!

I quite like this sunscreen specially because I have oily skin and it’s really hard for to find a sunscreen that doesn’t make my skin feeling oily and heavy. I like the size and packaging of this sunscreen as I can put it in my handbag without breaking my shoulder.
It’s consistancy is very thick and to be honest it does feel little bit sticky at first when you apply it but after it get absorbed it doen’t feel sticky and is also very light on my skin. I think it acts as a very good primer under my makeup which is great. I can definetly buy this product again and would definetly going to recommend it to my friends.

I love the smaller packaging, its attractive and small enough to go into the handbag. What a great idea to use a twist off lid. There is no chance of the lid popping open and squeezing cream through my expensive handbags.
I really enjoyed the light fragrance to the cream, very pleasant and not overpowering.
For a sunscreen, it is very thick, almost zinc like. However, it spreads so easily and smooth. A little goes a long way. I thought it was going to feel really heavy on my skin but I was wrong. It rubs in easily and does not feel as though it suffocates my face. Once its absorbed, it has a silky feel to my skin which was very pleasant. I used this on mine and my childrens faces the other day and it really did work. No greasy residue left on my hands after applying the sunscreen and my face was not left with that tacky feeling. It felt like I had just moisturised my face.
At the end of a day of applying and reapplying, my skin was left without any blemishes that usually happen with other creams. My son who has sensitive skin also had no problems using this product.
Its definately one of those throw in the handbag just in case products. Perfect for keeping for the face area or smaller more sensitive areas of the body.
At $17.99 for an 85ml tube, it definately is at the more expensive end of the market but lets face it, no clogged pores, lightweight, non oily with a silky smooth feel it will be a welcome addittion to my handbag

I loved this! I did not find it made my skin feel oily at all, in fact it felt soft & weightless.
My skin is dry and fair, and I usually dislike wearing sunscreen as it makes my skin feel gluggy, and I tend to stay out of the sun as much as possible. But this one slid on like silk and felt just like a light moisture cream.
All that protection and no gluggy feeling!
My only niggle would be the size. If this product is for the body, which it appears to be, then I would like it in a bigger size!

This light weight sunscreen is a fantastic addition to your handbag, as not only is it a great product, but the compact packaging ensures that it won’t take up too much room.
The light and creamy texture is a lovely change for sunscreen, gone are the thick creams that sit on your skin for hours. This ultra sheer lotion absorbs really well and feels more like a moisturiser than a sunscreen after a minute or two. You only need to apply a small amount, as a little bit certainly does go a long way.
I was really impressed with this product as it was the least sunscreen-like product I’ve used, while offering all of the benefits you’d expect. Perfect for those who need a daily sunscreen, you won’t be disappointed with the results.

The Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunscreen lotion was a delight to use. Firstly and perhaps most importantly to me, it broad-spectrum protection from UVB rays, as well as UVA rays. My skin protection is paramount to any product I use! It provided a lovely neutral fragrance that did not over power my perfume – this ticked an important box for me as most sunscreens require you to wear no perfume or overshadow them! It was lightweight, non greasy and easy to apply leaving my skin soft and without the feeling of a heavy, sticky residue that most sunscreens have. I used it for a few days in the sun and it provided excellent sun protection and didn’t react with my super-sensitive skin. The simple easy to hold and store packaging was another winner for me and a little bit seemed to go a long way. The price seemed reasonable for what the product provides and I would definitely purchase and recommend this product. I rated this product 4/5

I would put this in the middle range of the sunscreens I have tried. I like the packaging and the tube of dry-touch is a good fit for throwing into a handbag or beach bag. The texture of the cream was not as light as I expected but it rubbed in quite well and is quickly absorbed by dry skin. I wouldn’t think it so suitable for anyone with oily or greasy skin. I especially liked the moisturising effect on my dry hands.
The fragrance is subtle and reminds me of childhood summers on the beach, something like zinc. I like the fact that it is PABA-free and the long lasting water resistance time.
I would consider buying this, along with others in the same price range, although with only 85ml in the tube I might be inclined to look for more value for my dollar. Would probably recommend to my beach going friends as a product to try. I would not buy the Neutrogena Ultimate Sport in the aerosol can as I avoid aerosol, particularly to take in the car or anywhere likely to be hot like a sports event or the beach.

I thought the packaging looked really nice more like moisturiser than suncream, it’s a nice size not too big excellent for purse. The product itself was really lovely to use I hate the feeling of thick gluggy suncream with that strong suncream smell. This had non of that it was really like using moisturiser it was light after i had used it it didnt even feel like i had it on, wont leave thick suncream marks where u miss it on your face. It had a mild fragrance not even remotely like suncream. I really liked it especially for women nothing less glamorous that big blobs of smelly suncream clogging up your pores. I am sold this is now my suncream of choice.

I really enjoyed using this sunscreen and on my oily/combo skin, a few minutes after application, it does leave my skin dry and is non-greasy.
I do get a bit of shine during the day in the office using this, but I really can’t blame the product for it as I’m usually a greaseball by lunchtime and using this hasn’t made it worse.
The only thing that devastates me about this sunscreen was that it made me break out – tiny little whiteheads appeared on my cheeks after 2 weeks of use.
So now I use this on my neck and hands and arms instead of my face – such a shame really since I really enjoyed using the product but something in it just doesn’t agree with my skin.

I am sceptical when using sunscreens as I have oily skin to begin with so I have trouble finding one that offers enough SPF protection and yet still has a matte finish. I was excited to try out the new Neutrogena sun protection product as it claims to have a dry finish. The texture of the cream itself is very thick and white and it has a strong sunscreen scent that I find a bit overpowering. I prefer one that is more subtle or even unscented, as I tend to get a headache from using heavily perfumed skincare. I only used a small amount due to its consistency and a little was enough to cover my entire face and neck. On a positive note, I was surprised to see that it did absorb very well and left a dry finish, so in that respect it did live up to it’s claims. The downfall though, is that it still left me with a shiny face within hours of the initial application. Due to this face I am not able to wear it my under make-up on a daily basis but I will keep it to use for when I am heading out to the beach instead, or even on my body for extra protection. This would be better for those with dry skin types, or even combination, might still be a bit rich if you have a problem with excess oil.

I agree with many other comments about it leaving a shiny oily residue on the skin. But the sun protection is quite good.

Most sunscreens tend to cause my skin to seriously break out, but this super lightweight formula is the only one that’s been suitable so far (provided that I wash it off as soon as I get home and out of the sun).
The formula for oily skin is honestly a god-send and is great for those who want to protect their skin from the sun, but also to prevent nasty side effects such as breakouts.

Dry touch? I don’t think so.
This sunscreen has left my skin still quite shiny and oily like any normal sunscreen. So that is a thumbs down.
The packaging on the other hand is actually quite good, it comes in a squeezy tube which allows total control of how much product is used.
I had high expectations of this product but was left dumbfounded. I would not recommend this for anyone because there are cheaper sunscreens that work the same.

This is the best sunscreen ever! I have super oily skin and this does help keep the oils at bay! It is super fast absorbing and left my skin feeling soft. Although it is relatively more expensive compared to other sunscreen I think it is definitely worth its price.

It’s only Dry Touch if you apply the slightest amount, which isn’t enough to provide sun protection. NIVEA has a much better option for truly invisible/weightless sunscreen.

This has been my families sunscreen this summer. This lotion is easy to absorb and has a lovely lightweight texture. I love how the packaging is small enough to throw in my handbag so I have sunscreen with me at all times.

I thought this sunscreen was average when applied…it did have a different texture to most other sunscreens, lighter and silkier, but it still felt a little oily despite the name. I have continued to use it though, fine for weekends and exercising, but wouldn’t wear it out to a formal day time event (wedding/races), especially on my face.

This sunscreen is supposedly 50+ not 30 so its the highest protection we can get here in Australia – must be the helioplex. Its not greasy and smells nice.

I am a dark skinned gal who could never find a sunscreen that absorbed nicely into the skin and didn’t make me look ashy. Well, I was about to give up until I tried the Neurtrogena Ultra Sheer sunscreen and it was perfect….no ashy look, blended into the skin nicely, no shine and excellent sun block. I also found that my sensitive skin didn’t react to the product when I applied it and didn’t make me break out. Dark skinned beauties this is a must

I know living in our climate that a sunscreen is a must but I find it so difficult when it comes to the feeling of the creams and the unmistakeable smell of sun creams. I find this an excellent product for an entire day outside, like at the pool, picnic or something but if I need to put on makeup and go shopping, I cannot wear it. It gives my face a shiny look and the smell I cannot get out of my head.

I saw loads of rave reviews about this sunscreen but don’t know what the big deal is. it leaves my face greasy like any other sunscreen. I can’t stand to wear it on my face, so I’ve been using it on my arms and chest and I guess it works coz I haven’t gotten burnt while wearing it, but it’s too expensive for that purpose and it’s definitely not “dry touch / clean feel” or whatever it claims. on the hunt for a better one!
Posted by: swoopingbuzzards Master Fan // Mon, 27 February 2012 03:04pm
turns out this stuff is nasty. I’d give it a zero if I could.
it caused me to have a lumpy seriously itchy rash in my elbow crease. I didn’t realise it was the sunscreen until I didn’t use it for a little while until yesterday and within an hour of applying the rash came back.
I was telling my friend about it and she said she used to use it too and also got a similar reaction (but on her face!!)
I do not recommend this product at all, sensitive skinned ladies especially!

I wasn’t expecting incredible results from this sunscreen. I mean SPF 30+ combined with a dry-touch formula? A bit optimistic isn’t it? The sunscreen feels quite dry but after a few minutes of it sinking into the skin, you can see the shiny effect. Such a shame but it’s not a bad sunscreen!

This is a great everyday sunscreen. It does absorb quickly and isn’t at all heavy. I also like that it doesn’t clog your pores- it is hard to find and spf 30 for your face that is non-comedogenic. I would recommend this to anyone.

Well, it was dry-touch for me. And the very high UVA/UVB protection is excellent. But I didn’t find it particularly moisturising and I don’t like layering too many things on my face in the morning. I think this will be great for use in the summer months but I don’t think it’s great for underneath make up.

This sunscreen is very nice, it’s so easily rubbed into the skin and leaves my skin protected without feeling oily or greasy.
I have quite sensitive skin and this sunscreen didn’t irritate it at all, it also doesn’t suffocate my skin or break me out.
I think for its price it’s a really good facial sunscreen and with the dry touch technology you ant go wrong. My makeup even stays put over this stuff, it just doesn’t move on the skin at all.
Posted by: Knyholm Master Fan // Thu, 11 October 2012 08:29pm
This is one of the better sunscreens that I have used. It absorbs quickly and really does leave the skin dry to touch, and not greasy like most other sunscreens.
And it doesnt rub off on your clothes, so its great to use as an everyday sunscreen as well.
The only thing is that if I use it in my face, it does seem to irritate my eyes, and make them water!
Posted by: Michelle-1343378350 Devotee // Thu, 31 January 2013 08:16pm
I actually use this sunscreen daily! I love the formula as it goes on and absorbs easy without being heavy and oily like other sunscreens. I like the smell too. I try to buy this on sale as its a little dear but I think it’s worth it.

I’ve been using this sun-screen for a week and my skin is noticeably less oily already. it sinks into the skin quickly, and hasn’t caused any break outs so far. much better than so many others which make my skin a spotty oil-slick!
