The VIP's Verdict

Aside from the super sleek packaging, the L’Oreal Paris Youth Code Rejuvenating Anti-Wrinkle Concentrate, Eye care and Day Care products have definitely improved both the texture and tone of my skin.
Now although being someone of a relatively young age, my skin was ill prepared to comment on the reduction of wrinkles that these babies offered, I am the holder of dull, tired skin and for this I can speak wonders of the L’Oreal Paris Youth Code range.
After using them in conjunction, day and night for the past month, I can see that my skin looks rested and radiant. This is especially the case with the Day Care moisturiser. Man, that cream is the bomb diggity!

Immediately upon application, the thick, rich cream (which means it’s perfect for the colder, winter months, erm… now) evens out my skin tone and leaves me with a soft, velvety finish, which provided for ease of make up application too. Bonus!

I must admit though, I’m a little skeptical about the eye cream’s tinted and illuminating abilities when used on it’s own – was hard to tell on first contact. But again, if used in conjunction with the Anti-Wrinkle Concentrate and Day Care, after a few uses I noticed that my skin tone was evened out and I appeared fresh. Take that eight hours sleep!

As for value for money, well you’re getting an entire skin care set for just over a hundred smackers – relatively inexpensive when compared to the numerous others on the market. And after using the products day and night for a month now, I’ve barely made a dent, so I can assure you a little goes a long way, so these will last you a fair while.

If you find that you’re noticing the onset of wrinkles is fast approaching, and have tired, dull skin – I suggest you give the L’Oreal Paris Youth Code range a go. Visible results in a month – how can you say no?

Before receiving these new L’Oreal products I was dealing with some pretty average skin problems, my skin was looking pretty flat in general and I had some dryness under and above my eye area which I had never had before, so I was keen to see if these products would help.

The day cream comes in an expensive looking glass jar. Having oily skin, I have always been sceptical when it comes to heavier creams but it absorbs really well without a greasy or heavy feeling. It’s mattifying effect is noticeable and my face overall feels soft and ready for priming after use. I don’t really have any wrinkles, so I can’t comment on this aspect but this cream is definitely hydrating without being too heavy.

The eye cream worked wonders on my dry skin around my eyes. I have never used an eye cream before but since using this day and night for the last month or so I am convinced that it has to remain a part of my regime. I have quite dark under eye circles and can experience some puffiness and this cream has alleviated these problems. It also has made concealing under the eye a lot easier. My only problem is the packaging, it can be difficult to get a small amount out of the jar and I think a tube or sorts would be more hygienic for something going so close to the eyes.

As I mentioned above, I don’t have wrinkles so I couldn’t really comment on the concentrates effectiveness, but I used it regardless.

Overall, I am happy with these products and will most likely purchase the day and eye cream when I run out, as it is a less expensive and effective alternative to the Clinique gel moisturiser I have been using for years.

Hands up if you have 102384239 eye creams sitting in your makeup drawer right now, all half-used and abandoned. Wow, that’s a lot of you Primpers. And since I love being the bearer of good news, I’m thrilled to be able to tell you, I have found one, that works. See some eye creams don’t do anything, others help wrinkles but make your makeup slide off, others help your makeup sit on tight, but a little too tightly in those lines under the eye, and I could go on but we all know the story. THIS ONE, the L’Oreal Youth Code Rejuvenating Anti-Wrinkle eye-cream, is a total gem. While I must confess I am way too young to assess it’s anti-wrinkle factor (I left that to Mum, more on that in a wee bit), this stuff is perfect. It visibly makes your eyes look brighter the minute you put it on, and provides the right amount of dewiness but also mattifies the area, and acts as a perfect primer for eye makeup (sometimes you can even give it a miss with this baby). I know, it’s hard to fathom a product that is dewy but MATTIFIES and smooths AND primes. So I’ll give you a minute to appreciate this wonder.

While you’re fathoming, I’ll introduce you to the concentrate and moisturiser. Not surprisingly, these two are great as well. They have the right amount of frangrance (that is, enough to make you feel refreshed, but not enough to make you feel nauseous-if you want that primpers, you’ll have to look elsewhere-soz), and like their sister eye cream, these beauties make your face look visibly smoother the minute you put them on. Which means they’re great by themselves and also fanatastic (no, seriously-amazing) primers. With L’Oreal’s new camera-ready range being such a winner, I wouldn’t be surpised if some of that technology slipped into this skincare range too.* And yes, the results are buildable over time!

L’Oreal has always been a bit too grown up for me so when I got the Youth Code loot I thought..”Woohoo! Now’s my time.” Reading the press release though I realised that at 24 it still wasn’t my time because this is designed for 35+ women. I guess the ‘Youth Code’ had me a little fooled!
I’ve enjoyed slapping on the Day Care Cream in mass amounts and found that in sunk right into my skin. It has a lovely velvety texture and doesn’t leave you at all ‘sheeny’ (Sheens of all type are bad). I found though with winter hitting, I would’ve liked something slightly richer for night time. The eye cream does hurt quite a bit if accidentally put too close to your eye, so don’t say I didn’t warn you. While the serum feels lovely and I used it mostly on my forehead and those soft lines that are setting in around the sides of my eyes. I won’t be buying this product as I haven’t noticed a huge change in my skin but I think for women with a few more years on them than me, it would be quite a nice one to try!

My first impression was that L’oreal has spared no expense in presentation. The products are aesthetically presented – they come in a cellophane wrapped box. Inside is a heavy glass jar with a glossy black lid. This definitely helps the illusion that this is an expensive product.

I used these products twice daily for the past month, in conjunction with each other. The products had a very light fragrance and were pleasant to use. When applied, the day crème sank in quickly and spread easily. The eye cream was similar in texture to the day cream, with the addition of a tint. The slight tint in the eye cream is an added bonus as it helps mask those dark circles and puffy eyes. This coupled with the matte finish made my skin perfect for makeup. The concentrate, which is thicker in consistency than the 2 aforementioned products, has a nozzle which is great for dispensing small and targeted amounts.

The range worked quite well for me. It kept my skin plump, radiant and smooth without sending my skin to oil production overdrive. I can’t comment on reducing wrinkles however, as I (thankfully) still have youth on my side. Personally, I don’t believe that wrinkles can be reduced by using a cream – or any cream for that matter – but I do believe in preventing them and will definitely use this range in hopes of that.

The biggest down side is that there is no broad spectrum protection in any of the products. There is no statement on which skin types these products would suit, other than mature skin. This might concern those with sensitive skin. It is also unfortunate to see that parabens and sulphates made the list.

Overall, I like how they’re moderately priced (RRP $35.95 each) but still work well. I would recommend this product to those who are just getting into age management skincare as they are definitely a cheaper alternative to more expensive products without the hefty price tag!

MY REVIEW OF L’OREAL PARIS YOUTH CODE

Overall: Firstly, i should mention that i’ve used SKII, Shiseido, Dermalogica and just about every other brand on the market. I’m 22 years old and it suited my skin perfectly, even though it’s targeted at the 35+ age group. The L’Oreal Paris Youth Code range was to my surprise very effective. In the past i felt that L’Oreal skin care was too fragranced, but the entire Youth Code range feels very nourishing and i would recommend it for lovers of ‘natural’ skin care products.

The three products are significantly different, here’s why:

Day Care cream – lighter than the other two, absorbs well without leaving a greasy residue but nevertheless lasts until morning. It’s better used underneath oil-based foundation, or as a light night cream. Not ideal for under oil-free foundation in my opinion. Mattifying particles will make your skin feel like satin. This cream is refreshingly cooling, and therefore great for treating puffiness.

Eye Care cream – My favourite! Creamy, incredibly rich and can still be felt on the skin in the morning. Best eye cream i’ve ever used! Plus, you can use it all over the face during winter. It may seem like a small jar but you only need a tiny amount so it will last for a very long time.

Anti-wrinkle Concentrate – Love the tube packaging! So convenient. The texture is thick but beautifully soft, surely due to the beeswax and shea butter. As effective as the eye cream BUT very different. The concentrate will fill in fine lines leaving the skin feeling rested and moisturised, but certainly not oily. Mattifying texture, fast absorbing, treatment in a tube.
A great product for those who don’t like oily-feeling skin care.

Packaging: Simple and neat, much like Olay’s packaging. It would be even better if the Day Care and Eye Care products were packaged in a tube like the Anti-wrinkle Concentrate as it is shatter proof, hygeinic and handbag friendly.

    Value for money: Definitely

Well, who else was excited when Loreal decided to make an anti-ageing range targeting younger women. I liked using all three products.
Day Moisturiser – Can I say well done to Loreal or Primped for sending a normal sized jar out. Very impressive. I didn’t need a lot of the moisturiser and, as with the eye cream, it absorbed very nicely onto my face and neck. I concentrated on putting the moisturiser around my nose and on the tip, as winter is starting, I’m busting out the Kleenex and that area is getting a bit red and dry. Over time I’ve seen the dryness go away and it always feels nice my entire face feels soft and hydrated.
One negative I have for the Day Moisturiser is that it looks like there isn’t any sun protection. Again, this is only something I’ve been concerned with this year, and I may have missed it on the jar or packaging, however it makes sense to me that an anti-ageing youth line would contain some SPF.
Eye Cream – Although there’s not as much of it as the Day Moisturiser (understandably) I can see it’s going to take me a while to use all of this up. It’s a pretty soft pink colour which blended really well into my skin. I’ve been concentrating mostly on the inner and lower part of my eyes, the parts that get particularly dark. There’s no funny smell to worry about and it absorbed into my skin in no time.
Concentrate Tube: This was an impressive size of concentrated wrinkle-zapping-power, used to seeing a teeny-tiny tube on the shelf while shopping and thinking ‘hmm it might work, but I would like more bang for my buck’, the Concentrate Tube is longer than my hand. There isn’t a lot of information on this guy about how best to use it, or where on your face to apply it (as I don’t have any visible wrinkles…yet). So I put a little on the outer corner of my eyes, and the line from my nose to my mouth (which Google tells me is called my Nasolabial folds).
    LOVE THEM ALL

I absolutely adore the packaging of these products, the heavy glass gives it an expensive and luxurious feeling, even though the price is reasonable. I assume that the concentrate is in a soft tube rather than the glass jars is so it’s transportable, but I still wasn’t loving it. At the age of 19 I know that I’m not the target demographic for these products, but I found the day cream to be an amazing moisturiser in its own right. My skin is painfully dry all year round, and this stuff was a giant relief- I looked forward to putting it on every morning and every night. I also found it helped my make up sit a lot nicer on as well as making my skin feel hydrated. The eye cream was a gorgeous pale pink colour, and the texture of the day and eye cream were velvety, a really really lovely touch. I couldn’t see the use for the concentrate as I don’t yet have wrinkles, but I gave the creams to my mum to see whether or not she would find them useful, being at a more mature age. She agreed on me with the hydration and the texture, but also said that she stopped using the concentrate as she saw no need for it once she put the other creams on. I asked her to focus on the scent of the product too, but when I asked for her feedback she didn’t notice the scent at all, as she focused on how great the product felt instead. She did say, however, that she didn’t have any visible reduction in wrinkles, but that was probably because she has bad eyesight ;P I thought that it made her dull skin much brighter and clearer, and I felt it did that with my young skin, too. Overall, I fell in love with the eye cream and the day cream, and will definitely be purchasing them for myself and my mumma once we have used up this lot!

Day Care cream – Between you and I receiving these Loreal products was a godsend, especially considering that at the beginning of winter, I was staring into my beauty case only to find an empty jar of day cream. The jar of day cream is made of a seemingly unbreakable glass making it look both luxurious and ‘science-y’ at the same time. With the smell of citrus undertones, this thick cream is quickly absorbed into the skin leaving an almost matte-like finish, which was awesome because it eliminated my need for a primer (talk about value for money!). This cream has helped my skin go through the crazy weather and my air conditioned office – it is definitely a champion.
Eye Care cream – There is definitely more that meets the eye (sorry for the bad pun) to this eye cream. Even though it comes in a small 15mL jar, there is enough eye cream to last you well up to the 6 month expiry date. The pale pink cream has a paste-like texture that feels like it is exactly what my eye area needs (this is what my quarter life crisis tells me). For $35.95, it is great value for money since most eye creams on the market can cost the equivalent of giving away your first born!
Anti-wrinkle Concentrate –It comes in a sleek black tube which I prefer (more hygienic). Even though I currently don’t have wrinkles (knock on wood), I imagine that the applicator would allow you to really get into those pesky lines. The texture of the concentrate is more on the greasy side, but after the quick absorption the skin is softer and smoother. Even without wrinkles or fine lines I think it would be a great product to put into the handbag for the winter season for those ‘dry skin crisis’ days, which makes this product worth every cent!
Overall, this was a great product range to use for my combination skin and my quarter life crisis.

Primpers, I love receiving packages in the mail. It’s so much fun, doncha think? So, obviously, receiving THIS beautified package sent directly from Jesus himself (no, I’m kidding, it was Primped, silly!) was a treat. And it wasn’t just my ‘package receiving induced excitement’ that got me all giddy inside, it was the added fact that I’d been scraping the bottom of my Clinique eye cream for 2 long.
First up, let’s talk about eye creams, baby (cos it was my favourite). The Eye Care is a winner, Primpers. While I can’t comment on its wrinkle reducing effectiveness (I’m only 20, gosh!), I can tell you that after just one application your skin becomes visibly smoother and feeling great. As some of the other Primpettes have already mentioned, the eye cream acts as a wonderful primer for your eye makeup (it helped to create a smoother application of concealer and made it feel so great that it agreed to stick around all day long, good one!). PLUS, it’s pink colour (a result of it being slightly tinted to illuminate your eye contour area) is just lovely. Anything that helps brighten the area under my eyes is tops, and L’Oreal, you did it! For just $35.95…It’s love!
The Day Care moisturiser proved to be an excellent up-grade from my lighter, more summery suited cream. Its thickness helped to give my skin the added hydration that it has so desperately needed lately (I did only use a very small amount, especially around my t-zone, otherwise I woke up with pimples). I liked how it had a hint of citrus scent. It kept me feeling fresh, but not like I was plastering a tonne of perfume on my face. My skin felt silky smooth after application and I have noticed an enhanced evenness in my skin tone (bonus!).
I’m loving that the creams are packaged in a classy and THICK glass jar(coz I’m tops at dropping things).
Overall, I’m one happy Primper and will defs be purchasing the eye cream again. The Day Care?I’d be happier if it included some form of sun protection. x

Firstly, upon opening my bubble wrapped mail package, I was pretty excited about reviewing a product for Primped, and pretty excited I had bubble wrap for later, & then when I saw Youth Code I was sort of skeptical, but I decided to make the most of it so let my review begin! The packaging is gorgeous, black, pink, white & gold, its striking and appealing, I’d pick it up off the shelf. Fresh faced on Monday morning I tried the Rejuvenating Anti-wrinkle Concentrate, the smell, I definitely wasn’t a fan of the smell, it’s a bit too clinical for my liking, also I found it left my skin feeling oily. I then used the Rejuvenating Anti-wrinkle Eye Care cream, this I loved, it melts into the skin, it’s so thick and luscious, the smell; light & fresh. I let my skin rest before using Rejuvenating Anti-wrinkle Day care moisturizer, this stuff is the bomb, the cream slides on perfectly, the smell is minimal, after 10 minutes my skin was softer and brighter. After a week, my skin had cleared up, being oily & prone to the odd blemish, I was quite surprised, I was more surprised by the bags that are permanently under my eyes being less prominent, after two weeks my friends & family had noticed a change in my skin as well, which was a nice compliment! After a month of using these products my skin is in no way the same as it was when I started, & I said my bags had become less visible, but now, they’re gone, & even the creases under my eyes that I thought were there for ever have softened. I would recommend this product to anyone of any age. Regardless of if you have wrinkles or not, this product says it illuminates your face, reduces bags and dark circles under the eyes & softens wrinkles, it does. Oh, one last thing, considering all the amazing things this product does for your skin; I’m guessing the price tag could be pretty hefty? WRONG, these are reasonably priced for everyone, for the value you’re receiving; I think it’s worth the honest price tag!

    Loreal Youth Code…..WOW
    Packaging: simple, sleek, stylish
Texture: A-M-A-Z-I-N-G, so hydrating, so moisture rich, so thick and smooth and nourishing….not at all oily/sticky/greasy….literally melts into the skin. :-)
Results: immediate- skin feels hydrated and moist, smooth and fresh. i found the day cream to be an excellent primer for my make-up…made it look so dewy and last all day.
After a couple weeks: My skin is more smooth and nourished, i have naturally very dry skin and i have had zero problems with dryness since using Youth Code. My skin has more radiance and looks younger, fresher and well rested. Fine lines around my eyes are finer and smoother….im only 20 so i dont really have any other lines on my face as of yet.
Value for Money: not to exxy, the products are definetely worth the price but i feel you could get away with just the day cream and the serum if you wanted to save some money ;-)
Overall opinion: 4.5/5 stars….i dont think my skin needs the serum as im still quite young but im definetly going to continue buying the day cream simply because its an AWESOME moisturier and primer and has improved my skins texture and look brilliantly.

I was recently sent the latest range from L’Oreal Paris, called Youth Code. The Youth Code range is a rejuvenating anti-wrinkle range, designed to increase the skins capacity for recovery and re-establish its natural code for youthfulness by helping improve wrinkles, tired skin and dull complexion.

I am not quite 35 years old however, my skin is showing signs of aging including fine lines, uneven skin tone and tiredness.

I have been using this range of products for four weeks now. Every morning after cleansing I apply the Youth Code Rejuvenating Anti-Wrinkle Day Care cream, and every night after cleansing I apply the Youth Code Rejuvenating Anti-Wrinkle Concentrate over my entire face leaving my eye area clear for the Youth Code Rejuvenating Anti Wrinkle Eye Care.

Whilst my lines have not disappeared I am happy to report a much nicer, softer, smoother and more even appearance to my skin tone. I have to be careful with the products I use on my skin, as I am prone to reactions. I have found that this range is gentle and soothing. My skin is replenished and fresh looking. I haven’t had any breakouts and it heals faster. I have also noticed a puffiness to my face when I wake up in the morning, I’m assuming this is from the Anti-Wrinkle Concentrate I apply each night.

I’m definitley happy with my skin while using these products – it is softer and more supple and when using the Anti-Wrinkle Day Care each morning my skin is smoother and velvety and ready for my primer and make-up.

L’Oreal Youth Code Rejuvenating Anit-Wrinkle Day Care: It promises increased smoothness, brightness and moisturization and this little puppy delivers. It is packaged like a department store high-end product (sealed box, heavy glass jar), has very little scent (think “clean-ish”) and it absorbs brilliantly into skin. It delivers on all counts and is the perfect primer for my 46-year-old combo skin. Even though I know it is naughty, I haven’t been able to stop touching my with this product on it and enjoying the velvety, plump texture of my skin. Loving this stuff SICK and cannot wait to see the long-term impact. This coming from a chica who has tried the gamut in skincare from La Prairie to Clinique. Confession: that I always assume more expensive is better, but in this case it’s just not true.
L’Oreal Rejuvenating Anti-Wrinkle Eye Care: I am still in search of a daytime eye cream HG. This little pot of “melting” cream (psuedo firm to touch, then melts) has all the packaging hoopla of the day care product. It absorbs quickly and while I cannot verify the contour /dark circles performanceyet, my sense is that this could be a long-term result. Best news: it did NOT make me have panda eyes under make-up (over oily). It is sooooo soothing and absorbing and made my concealer GLIDE on. Yet again, a keeper and great value.
L’Oreal Youth Code Concentrate: An interesting applicator allows you to “draw” on the product where you need it. While it did absorb easily and provide a VERY slight tingle, I am again thinking it needs another few days to be certain it is working on the wrinkles.
Overall, I am so glad I tried these as I will DEFINITELY be re-purchasing the day care and eye care and possibly the concentrate after another week of usage to see results. My skin consistently feels “post-facial” and the brightness is definitely there. Love your work, L’Oreal!

I have to start by standing up and admitting that my name is Jillian and I’m a routine-a-phobe. I’m hopeless. I just can’t manage to stick to a skin routine. The only thing I do daily for my skin is cleanse and slap on some invisible zinc.
So when I received my little L’Oreal package I have to say, I was a little disappointed (I was hoping for a lippie sample) and a little nervous too. There it was, a challenge and I chose to accept it, for the good of primp kind, of course. With my envelope of wrinkle creams in hand I made myself a promise to use these little creams daily and give the primp world my best assessment of the products.
Now on top of my fear of routine, my other challenge was to figure out a way to report on its effectiveness, when I fortunately do not have wrinkles to effect.
Unfortunately, I failed on both counts. Two weeks in and I was forgetting to use the creams daily. And the only effect I saw it having was ultra moisturising.
    But this is what I found;
    Daily Moisturiser –
Likes; Non offensive smell, rich creamy texture, glides on easily, absorbs well, super moisturising on dry patches.
Dislikes; Not a lot, maybe the price, I probably wouldn’t pay $36 for it.
    Eye Cream –
Likes; It was refreshing. soft and luxurious, non greasy,
Dislikes; It might have been nicer in a tube like the concentrate; I found it difficult to get the right amount out of the little pot.
Anti wrinkle Concentrate; I used this the least. I didn’t see much difference when using it, but like I said, I don’t have a lot of wrinkles. I did test it out a few times on my boyf, but I’m afraid I still didn’t see any result.

It’s normal for winter to steal our gorgeous, glowy summer skin & leave us looking tired & worn. Boo! But, L’Oreal Paris Youth Code Collection have saved the day! After using these products, my skin not only looks great but feels fantastic! It’s great timing that Primped have kicked off Glorious Skin Month too, because this product range fits right in with the cool kids.
The Day Care cream is awesome. It has a gorgeous, buttery texture & feels beautiful when applied. My skin has that lush, pillowey feel to it after it’s begun to reap the benefits of this ridiculously nutritious formula.
Next, the Eye Care cream, what a special one this product is. After a busy day, or even the morning after too many wines, this miracle worker revived the skin around my eyes. With the ability to smooth the skin & give a luminous look, once you have applied this one you instantly look & feel better.
Finally, the concentrate. This baby softens the skin filling in fine lines & wrinkles upon application. When teamed with the other two, you end up with a fabulous finished appearance to your skin & you haven’t even put any make up on yet.
We’ve covered the benefits the products had on my skin, what about financials? These goodies are so budget-friendly they even leave change to buy a coral lippy to rock with my glowing skin! When have you ever bought a complete skin care set for just over $100? Never! This is a no brainer – 5 stars for value for money.
Now, the product appearance. The heavy glass jars topped with black lids & finished with labels featuring shots of gold & fuschia look fab in my bathroom. I’ve also travelled with these products, while they look heavy, they really don’t make much difference to the weight of my cosmetics bag. Bonus!
Enough from me, the best way to see how good these products are is to sample yourselves. Whether you pick up the whole set or just try 1 or 2, you’ll be doing your skin a favour Primpers – get involved!

I enjoyed the experience but I think their is still along way to go in the way of gene skin care. This is a good start though.
