Road-Test: Models Prefer Skincare Range

Start rejoicing… hydration is on its way!
The name Models Prefer (MP) speaks for itself, really. It’s a range of skincare products specially formulated for those who are on the hunt for flawless skin all day, everyday. Models are the perfect example. Just think about it – they’re placed under harsh lighting for shoots on a regular basis, so great skin is a must.
The beauty brains over at MP sure do understand the importance of hydration when it comes to skincare. The hero ingredient in the product range is AquaFLEX, essentially purified pomegranate extract which works to add moisture to your skin, resulting in a plumped-up, glowing complexion. And for bonus points, the products are all paraben-free, too.
Let me introduce you to the Hydrate range that I took for a road-test …
Meet the Milky Way 2 in 1 Cleanser and Toner, $11.99. I used a cotton wool ball to soak the product in, messaged it all over my face, and then gently removed all the built up mascara on my lashes. If you have sensitive skin, I highly recommend, as it’s a calming and gentle formula. I also found that it was the perfect cleanser to use in the morning after cleansing my face the night before, when I don’t need to use a strong, astringent cleanser.
There’s an exfoliant, too – the Rub and Scrub Gentle Face Exfoliator, $12.99. I’m always on the hunt for an exfoliator that’s quite mechanical, where I can feel the microbeads sloughing away dead skin cells, in particular dry lips and oily build-up on my T-zone. MP suggests using twice a week and I agree – the texture is quite gritty, so I think that any more (on my skin anyway) would be too harsh.
The EYE Love Eye Contour Roll-On Gel, 14.99, works at improving tired, saggy under-eye bags. It utilises a combination of caffeine and xymenynic acids, which support micro-circulation and banishing any built-up puffiness. It was like a mini eye wake-up call; I’m a night owl who sleeps on my stomach and I’m prone to a semi-squished face and puffy under-eye skin once I awake! This is the perfect quick-fix product!
I love to layer the Daily Perfect SPF Moisturiser, $24.99, once the eye gel dries down. This product is rich and velvety, über-hydrating but is still lightweight, making it easy to wear under makeup. It also comes with a built-in SPF, making it the perfect daytime moisturiser.
And for my favourite pick of the bunch was the BB Cream All-In-One Skin Perfector, $19.99. I’ve been let down in the past by BB Creams that are either too oily or sometimes too claggy, making the product hard to glide over the skin, however this BB cream has been the most wearable yet! I was pleasantly surprised at how much coverage it offered – I didn’t even need to use a concealer to cover up any blemishes. It wears beautifully on my skin, both soft and lightweight, and also feels hydrating. It glides on like a dream, making your morning makeup ritual just that much faster.
All in all, Primpers, I was mighty impressed with this range. It did restore moisture as it promised, and I was even able to solve my post-winter clogged pores while I was soothing my dried out skin. Everyone loves a double-whammy skincare range, and an affordable one at that!
Details: The Models Prefer Skincare Range is available now exclusively at Priceline.
