Make your fragrance last longer
Mon, 12 October 2009 10:36AM
I spritz a good amount of perfume on my neck every morning. Yet by lunch time the scent has all but gone. I don’t think I could possibly apply any more perfume without needing an oxygen mask! Where does it all go? Evelyn, please cease using any more of your perfume unnecessarily. The trick is in… more

Would you like a perfume with your fashion, Primpers?
Thu, 24 September 2009 5:26PM
With all this talk of fashion and beauty, it’s no surprise that Zo and I have naturally been drawn to sniffing out a few more designer scents over the past two weeks than normal. I mean, we’re always into them, but when you’re reporting on the shows and looking at depth at the trends, a… more

Fragrance finds a fan in the weirdest of places
Fri, 24 July 2009 3:35PM
If I had to name one person on earth I would rather smell less like, it would be Amy Winehouse. Of course, Primpers, I’ve never actually had the pleasure (or displeasure) of actually sniffing her out, but I hazard a guess that if I was, to sniff her out that is, she would smell somewhere… more

Thu, 21 May 2009 10:48AM
Every year, there are approximately 3532 new perfumes launched. Actually, that’s a lie, I have no idea on the real number but the point is, Primpers, there are lots. And currently our beauty cupboard is spewing scents that are dying to be talked about, found and loved. By you preferably. So, here are my Top… more

What do Uma, Rihanna, Halle and Jay-Z all have in common?
Wed, 15 April 2009 4:03PM
No, this isn’t a trick question where I lure you into some kind of false answer and chuckle to myself at your expense. No, no Primpers, I’m going to give it to you straight (for once). They’re about to put their faces to a fragrance. Some are releasing their very own (Rihanna, Jay-Z, Halle), while… more

Frederic Malle: The new Romeo of romance
Thu, 9 April 2009 11:32AM
Abundance. Probably THE word that best describes life in the ‘naughties’ (or whatever you want to call it). We’re so spoilt for choice as consumers that our longing for possessions is flooding us like the Atlantic Ocean engulfing the Titanic. We get sucked in. You. Me. Tina Turner… everyone, pretty much. It wasn’t always like… more

Exactly where to spritz your scent
Thu, 26 March 2009 11:09AM
Where should I be applying perfume? It’s hard to believe that there’s a right and wrong way to apply perfume. But there’s a little more to it than simply ‘aim and spray’. And then you also have to consider how much to apply. You don’t want to wear too much and risk intoxicating an entire room…. more

Your fragrance needs you
Thu, 18 December 2008 3:30PM
Whenever I buy a fragrance I find that it smells really different on my skin. Why? With the warmth of your body, a fragrance comes alive, allowing the top, middle and base notes to settle and really blossom into something special. When you first smell a fragrance in its bottle, all you’re getting is the alcohol and… more

Make your perfume last all night long
Mon, 15 December 2008 4:52PM
All that dancing and buzzing about to your favourite tune this party season requires effort, and not just in the hair and makeup stakes. Your fragrance also needs a little help in staying put, too.Because perfume reacts to heat, you need to apply it to the warm areas of your body. We’re talking wrists, nape… more

Part 1: Top Ten Fragrance Finds This Christmas
Mon, 1 December 2008 8:52AM
Some crazy statistic I just came across states that 30 to 35 per cent of yearly fragrance sales are made in December. Now, I’m no maths whiz but that’s about a third of all the perfumes sold throughout the year, are sold in one single month. Geebers, Primpers. That’s nuts. Confused yet? Me too. So,… more
